Connor Barrett Signs - 3 year deal

Brian Caswell the first RB i saw when i started watching the Saddlers in 1983. What a player, What a team

He’s not really a right back. I’m sure he could play there but his main asset is how easily he can beat a man, it sometimes looks impossible and he just brushes past them. Has some real quality with his final ball too, all kinds of different ones.

Even with a 3 year contract, we are going to struggle to hold on to him beyond this season I think.

He’s so good that I think we could even struggle to hold onto him if we were promoted.

He’s unbelievable.

I can see CB and JJ being sold for a small fortune

The little chip to JM was simple yet very clever. Knowles would have belted that out for a throw in

Thanks - nice of you to say so.

My absolute hero. But Connor is getting there!

Unlike Knowles, he never goes to ground, or gets bullied off the ball.

When he gets 1-2-1 with a defender, he seems to be able to just drift past them. One of the big differences from last season.

What a player Conner has turned out to be.

Fans have been saying for years we should be looking to pick up gems from non-league more as there are players out there.

Was not a gret success when we did try it previously, but a huge success lately so hats off to the recruitment team.

One of a handful of players to have scored for us in a fifth round F A Cup tie 'n all.

One of my favourites too. I remember getting his autograph at Fellows Park as he was getting so much stick from his team mates for wearing a garish purple suit.
Looking back the stick he got for his “fashion” was well deserved lol

Brian Taylor before my time.

The others… Kelly, Cross, Christie (2) and Rees?

Junior should also have been on that list I feel.

Hawker?

Yeah I got a bit confused then, Christie didn’t score two did he, Hawker scored with that stooping header. I kind of knew that as I was writing it I think.

Thank’s for that.

It was Kelly who scored the pen in the first game wasn’t it? Or did Christie score that?

Thought the Macken they were going on about above was Jon Macken! :man_facepalming:

Christie, I think.

He signed a three year deal so no one is getting him on the cheap regardless of promotion.

Go up and likes of him and Allen adapt to league 1 and they’ll be championship interest eventually given their ages and ability on the ball.

Would expect contract extensions for both next summer otherwise it’s a case of last 12 months and then value starts to drop.

My memory is not what it was. It was Rees that didn’t score, Christie did score two in the replay, the half volley and headed in Kelly’s chip on the back post.

Great memories, what I can remember of them

Kelly was immense that night. Christie too.
