Crewe Alexandra (A) May 3rd, 3pm

Yes, it was four. Think I was getting mixed up with the Bradford match. He played well over that four.

Worked so well against Harrogate and Accrington.

If we got to Wembley im not sure I would bother going, double bubble at work

I’m not sure if this is a delusional coping mechanism but I’m a bit more optimistic than I have been for weeks.

I thought Sadler should have gone after Bromley and was pretty gutted when he didn’t after Barrow, which was the last meaningful time he could have. So this might also be due to the fact I’d mentally had us out of automatics for a fortnight and wasn’t surprised at all today…

However, the last three games, when he’s finally been forced to play Chang and Hall, we’ve not been far off. Despite the Accrington game (which could be forgiven as a blip if it happened earlier… And totally avoided if we’d started with DJ on the bench) it almost looks like the start of a run of sorts. I think the win today will be more a psychological boost than a negative from the late Bradford goal.

So I’m not totally down on the playoffs if Sadler just keeps inching in the right direction… Start with enough strikers, enough players in the right position (IE no Adomah in attack etc), and don’t replace the best players with McEntee on 70 mins, and we could be in with a chance.

Ultimately keeping the powder dry for now. We may have a good chance in the playoffs. Post mortem, we might even have a good chance next season with Sadler in charge if we don’t make it this year, because he’s showing some signs of learning from mistakes and sometimes sticking with a manager through the lowest of the lows eventually pays dividends.

But if we do bottle the playoffs as well, one thing is certain: we deserve some seriously grovelling and genuine apologies from both Sadler’s and Trivela

To be honest we have done really well in cup type competitions this year…

I’m done for this season. Hopefully the play offs work out for us but I can’t do this anymore this season. I won’t be there.
My 42 years supporting this club and this is the lowest I’ve felt. UTS

It wasn’t unlucky that Bradford got the win it sounds they deserved, but wtf have we done to deserve the cruelty of the winner coming so, so late. Who the hell have we upset? Another kick in the nuts after all these years and last 3 months particularly. Only got ourselves to blame for not going up though. Only Walsall could turn a promotion push into something that feels more like a relegation battle.
I thought Asiimwe was MOTM today some quality crosses and excellent close control. The old problems still remain, we don’t look like scoring and the habit of coughing up possession and sitting deeper and deeper when trying to hold onto a lead.
I’m gutted we’ve blown such a big lead but have felt like that for some time now. Probably Barrow was the game I gave up hope. Feel strangely relieved to have finally won. I really wasn’t looking forward to the playoffs and am still not really, but Chesterfield is just down the road for me and today was an excellent atmosphere . I must be mad.

That’s a bit of a coont

Great atmosphere today. Fans were immense. Players responded I thought and great to see the togetherness between us and the players.

We deserved to win - better team overall although we always seem to give the opposition one excellent chance per game. Just glad Crewe didn’t take it.

I really enjoyed today - only down side was the heartbreak at the end. Having watched the Bradford highlights they deserved to win it. We just needed a little luck though and we didn’t get it.

I thought Harry Williams was probably our man of the match today - though nobody really stood out - a real team performance.

So onwards to the play offs. In my head it’s a free hit as I’m resigned to league two football next season. Trips to Bristol, Shrewsbury and hopefully York to look forward to - so not all bad.

It’s how football goes, and why we love it so much. A gut wrencher today, but we’ve been on the other end of it aswell.
Keates’ last minute goal at Swindon and Ron Greens’ penalty save at Sheffield spring to mind.

Still gutted though

Could make the original home date, but the new date means I can’t go unless I get last minute time off. Bit of a shitter to compound today, cheers power that be.

You could see in the faces of the players at full time that they are with us. Good lads, honest group. :ok_hand: All we ask.

Yeah, could see they were really trying today.

Let down badly by their manager and management team.

@mattycooper thats as good as Joannou’s multiple F-Bombs whilst still on air earlier on :joy:

Swore, asked if they were on air still, in which he was told they were. Dropped another for good measure :joy:

Their faces at full time when the Crewe fans all started cheering at once was heartbreaking. They really thought they had done it. Distraught.

A horrible ending to a horrible second half of the season. Trivela need to sort us out next season. I’ve put enough blame on Sadler this season, it’s time the owners take some. Prove you care about us and invest properly on the playing side or piss off and focus on your clubs who have a chance of European football, which I fear is your focus.

Hall is some player and a credit to himself.

Second half. I thought we played like a team that was playing for nothing first half. No urgency, taking an age over set pieces. Did improve second half
