I agree but I think if there are players out on international duty from both teams . Then they both have to agree if the want to continue with the game or not
These international fixtures might well end up biting us in the arse!
Not a fan of postponing games for U21 , U20 fixtures.
We’re once again going to be playing catchup!
Absurdly late kick off times?
I’ve long thought games should/could be called off if you have players selected for your home nation, so England players from English league teams, German players from German league teams etc.
If players are selected from any other team then get on with it and play the game with a weakened team and have points deductions for teams if their manager moans about it.
I should point out I hate international football and wish it wasn’t played at all. Club football is what matters.
Down with this sort of thing.
Yes and the TV deal will also mean some other alterations to fixtures.
Would have been called off anyway with Daniels, Comley and Gordon being away
I hate that it is off but we can’t realistically play the game while missing Dave, Daniels, Harry and (obviously) Farq in the back three.
You could play McEntee and Weir alongside Allen (2 LCBs??) and perhaps Cleary or even RAM as the LWB in place of Gordon L, but it would leave us with absolutely no cover on the bench.
Then again, I pesume we must be going down that line (or perhaps just 4 at the back?) for the Shrewsbury game on Tuesday night.
30 mins on the line waiting to get tickets for tomorrow !
The lines are probably busy with fans buying vale tickets. Just pay the booking fee and do it online.
Going to be difficult day. Will be popping to the spoons to have my normal 8 pints pre match and mega breakfast. The ground will be busy so hopefully get to the Locker by 1205 for a few pints of Cowboy (usually about 5) and a cob before heading to to the lower tier at around 1415 for a two or three Atlantics.
Hopefully we start the first half with some intensity and take the lead on the 30th min - before getting a second at the stroke of halftime.
Halftime another beer in the lower - will use the app and order and collect with a pint of Carling before taking my seat and seeing us take a 3 nil lead by the 49th Min. Then squeeky bum time as they nick a couple back on the 83th and 89th min before the whistle blows and we win 3:2 in front of an audience of 8320 fans. Post match warm down in the Locker with a couple of Cowboys, then back to the William Archer for a couple of ciders then the lamp for a Curry via the off license to get some 20:20 to wash down my vinderloo
What time you going to be following through?
Most of Sunday morning I would guess…
Should just postpone the whole program so everyone knows where they stand (I’ve twice fallen “victim” this calender year to postponements having already booked travel.)
Play the tin-pot on the international weekends and the league games on those midweeks.
I usually go back to the spoons on the Sunday morning - need to save my pennies on heating and toilet roll.
30-40 minutes to exit car park, 30 minutes drive home ( if M6 not closed) often home after 11.00
- late for an old Codger like me👴🏻 If we can kick off at 7.00 for Noddy cup games why not league games? Then I might be willing to attend more.
Because there is a balance to be had. People don’t finish work until 530/6 in a lot of cases so wouldn’t be able to make it in time.
We always used to kick off at 7.30 years ago, as did most/all teams. I believe for the reasons you mentioned it changed to 7.45
I think I remember my Grandad telling me it used to be 7pm, but don’t quote me on that.
Thing is, same as everything it won’t fit in with everyone.
Obviously we’d be a weaker side but football throws up these challenges.
Sadler could play a youth player or someone out of position or change formations.
I can see both sides of the argument. Personally I’d like to have seen the game go ahead, but not going to lose sleep over it.
What do we think the likely team is for tomorrow? No changes apart from DD in for Harry?
