So just our game then. Early kick off, poor facilities will have played a part too, before the overly defensive lot jump on accusing me of making Sadler out to be a murder.
Well we just have to disagree. I think before and during games the team and staff deserve support no matter how bleak things may appear. I went to a lot of away matches when younger when we went on long runs where we were poor. The attitude in those days was “gallows humour” rather than hostility.
No, I’ve read your post above now
It was obviously borderline, given Alfreton’s confidence earlier in the morning.
Ultimately, it’s the referee’s decision.
I am not going to question that, I was sat in front of my TV, not at the game!
When I hear comments like this, I just put my head in my hands.
It’s like “I can’t think of anything else to say so I’ll just say something irrelevant and stupid”.
I implore you to get behind the club and stop being silly. It’s not big and it’s not clever
Depending on when they rearrange it for, and whether we also need a replay (with the Christmas schedule and typical bad weather we get around now making that hard to get done before January), we might even make the 4th round draw!
Yeah, it makes you wonder what’s up with some of ‘em.
So depressed, cynical, bitter, negative.
Football’s a great game, there to be enjoyed, but some fans just want to carp on and on and on about stupid irrelevancies.
I don’t usually post much either - you can’t win against this lot.
And i implore you to accept and appreciate that other fans are going to have differing opinions to yours , you have differing opinions to me but in my eyes it doesnt make you any less of a fan and i wont ridicule you for it , you need to try it sometime rather than thinking your the only one that matters , your just showing yourself now as being a silly billy
As I posted previously (whilst in the act of leaving the ground), when I spoke to a steward (about what had happened with their supposed fool-proof plan of covers and hot air blowers), he told me that because of the electronic boards they’d had to put around the pitch due to it being on telly they were unable to fit their usual anti-frost dome over the pitch properly. So blame TV and the money filthy lucre Alfreton took from them to switch to an early kick off and not be able to take proper precautions.
Why didn’t the referee inspect the pitch first thing this morning? With the temperature not rising much above zero? If it was unplayable then, it would be unplayable at kick-off. Or was it Alfreton that told the official it was all OK?
Anyway, we had a league game called off and went up a place, we have a cup game postponed and we are into the 3rd Round draw.
