Forecasts suggest the ground will barely thaw, but hard to tell what condition really will be. But timing, so there will be a game. I only wonder if it will be on the telly. No, not for you, but for me. This game was scheduled to be, but Tuesday’s game? Too early to tell.
We would if we got to the third round! We’re down to play Morecambe that day but because the FA cup will take priority and Morecambe are through, we won’t be playing the league game that day. Likewise we’re down to play Sutton on the date of the 4th round.
Possible replay dates are usually kept clear of league matches but if we need to we will cancel league games to play in the cup.
Hopefully they can set up their covers and heaters properly this time and thaw the ground out a bit.

Poor and disappointing in equal measure.
Makes me laugh fans were moaning Sadler didnt thank the fans during the interview so after the interview the team and Sadler go over to the fans to thank them for turning up and get booed.

I can remember several games being called off quite late on after a deluge but this must surely be the latest any Walsall game has been called in in living memory. There cannot have been many games for any clubs.

Tom Heslop really not happy, verging on angry at some of our fans versions of events today, he sets the record out with facts below:
- Mat Sadler didn’t refuse to play
- The players wanted the game on because of the superb support
- The referee should have called it the moment he got there
- We were there at 9.45am, it was frozen at that point!!

No we don’t always agree but your first paragraph is spot on. Negativity is one thing and that depends a lot on a person’s outlook on life but this personal abuse is another matter. MS has even been criticised for his head movements in interviews!!!
On your second point I do think there are more negative posters on here whatever our position in the League. It is probably true of most football websites because those who want to complain have a ready made vehicle.Anyway we now have a match to look forward to on Tuesday evening. Lets hope for a good performance and a good win.

Whatever Sadler does or says, he gets pilloried. He did nothing wrong today, was affable on TV and led the players applauding the supporters. Just what else might he have done>

I remember a game against Huddersfield at FP being called off, maybe an hour or an hour and a half before the KO the Huddersfield fans being pretty pissed off having travelled to Walsall for the game. Think it was in the early 80’s. Fans had tried to get the pitch playable but hadn’t been able to.
Maybe he/she was, or wanted it to be that.
Didn’t feel like that, the rumour was going round that it was off and when the players went over it pretty much confirmed that was the case.
I also hope the de, de, de der… effing useless chant wasn’t aimed at the team either.
There were a lot of people pissed off with it being called off so late, that is what the boos were for in my opinion.

It’s all down to opinions. I can respect other peoples. For me - Sadler does not come across well generally. I’m not a fan of how he comes across he’s not my cup of tea . I’m even more critical of the football his team produces.
He may be right about that being off today. Safety right call etc
But there was an air of I told you so it was never going to be on about him today. I think Alfreton have taken this as arrogance and it my opinion is that they’ll be fired up Tuesday.
If you’ve played at any level you love it if you cop a whiff of the opposition not wanting it. It puts a spring in your step. Alfreton have that.
A more experienced manager wouldn’t give the opposition that spring.
