Can’t see it being on
Nor me, hoping they’ve left the covers on so at least it stands a chance. At least you can sweep water off covers and it’s supposed to turn to drizzle from 2pm in Alfreton
Game looks like again being in grave danger, hope they make the decision to call the game off early if it’s in any doubt after the farcical circumstances on Saturday.
It was always gonna be In danger
A couple of days after a big freeze on a Tuesday night was always gonna be a high risk
Sadler has again been seen this morning at the Alfreton ground with his watering can and hosepipe.
Apparently he’s needed back at the bescot by midday to finish preparations for the Christmas party.
At least it is early enough to avoid most people travelling unnecessarily.
It didn’t look great on Saturday so goodness knows what it will be like after all this rain.
I would say it is very doubtful. All this heavy rain on a pitch which has slowly thawed will make it dangerous to play on in my view. If it is played it will be a tough game as that sort of pitch will be a great leveller.I remember Walsall beating Newcastle in the seventies…
How many times can the game be postponed for it to get the game played at ours/give a bye to the next round?
Haven’t read the whole thread but haven’t seen the question - do we still get the TV money for game selection if it hasn’t been played?
Only just above in the thread: P-P vs Alfreton Town (A) - FA Cup Second Round - Tue 5th Dec, 7:45pm - #686 by saddla
Thanks for indulging my laziness!
You never know then, we could cause an upset and beat Alfreton
I can’t see it being on tonight!
@derbysaddler What’s the weather doing up there? It’s ommerin down a rain here.
