If it does go ahead I hear Mat will insist the referee implement 30 minute water breaks .this Ref does what Mat tells him

Those of us old enough to remember 1963 know that we are not near that yet. In the great freeze a cup tie between Stranraer and Airdrie was postponed 35 times.

In England, the record is 14 postponements and an abandonment for Birmingham v Bury.

Surely this will be on by now it’s 6° today and it’s been raining for a day or two.I can’t see how any frost can still be on that pitch.

I think the potential danger now is waterlogging.

TV money is the same if i have read correctly.

Mat Sadler turning up for tonight’s game hoping the ref gets the hint quicker than Saturday.

Apparently the record in England is 15 postponements for a tie between Coventry and Lincoln, in the winter of 62-63.
I went to what I think was a fourth round replay between Wolves and Newcastle in 1979 which had been knocked on the head eleven or twelve times, iirc. It eventually went ahead on a Thursday night and Wolves won 1-0, with the goal scored by someone called Wayne Clarke, whoever he was.

Question is, if we win the coin toss do we take the shallow end?

Would the covers of not helped hold off the heavy rain?

That pitch reminds me of when I went to watch a game of Water Polo. It was entertaining but I felt sorry for all the horses that drowned.

Don’t think they put the covers back on after Saturday as they have wanted the ice moisture to evaporate rather than be trapped.

Ice moisture is a phrase that will get more airings today. If this was Sesame St, today would be brought to you by Ice Moisture and the number 1 (the minimum temperature required for water to begin evaporating - I think!).

Guess they’ve been a bit screwed then, saying that it’s not been raining most the day… so fingers crossed

I thought theyd have put them back on before they had a few inches of snow on Sunday making that easier to shift but who knows.

Is that what they use as a tactic to get information out of you?

Looking at social media there fans not confident this game will go ahead tonight think ref will play safe and call off after his mess up Saturday

Match on. Passed the inspection, no more rain forecast.
