D 0-0 vs Alfreton Town (A) - FA Cup Second Round - Tue 5th Dec, 7:45pm

That was a 0-0 loss. We were so, so poor. Absolutely no imagination. Slow, ponderous play with no design or forethought. We cannot pass to one another. Our play is either rushed when it needs calm or casual when it requires urgency. In attack, we always seem to want two or three touches too many and our defence is so busy. Barring the fans, no-one associated with our football team should feel accomplished with that performance. Yes, we should have had the goal which was disallowed, and that may have led to a different game altogether but I don’t see that fixing the issues with the team.

Rubbish, we’d have lost that if we didn’t have Farquharson.

All to play for next Tuesday.

Well that was worse than Scunthorpe, so if that doesn’t get Sadler sacked, what will?

The bbc just showed the Alfreton fans and team, none of ours. Heard the booing though and MS just darted straight down the tunnel.

Nothing! I will be genuinely surprised if he is pushed

DD was clumsy and poor. Farq was better. Nobody played well.

It was a poor game but the result might have been worse had we not stood strong. It’s been a while since we played a team with one tactic, the long throw.

I was glad we had Daniels, Farquharson and McEntee to compete physically, otherwise we would have folded under that barrage of throws. But our shooting was appalling - there were plenty of chances but few shots on goal. Although we did actually score, I wonder when we will register a goal again.

There are plenty of games like that we have lost in the past. The replay should be a bit easier and we move on.

On the bright side, it was good to see Earing back on the pitch.

Awful!! Pleased the Priest was back tonight

One of the shittest games I’ve ever seen. Almost wanted them to score cos we deserve nothing.

Can’t wait for Saturday, obviously for the day out not the inevitable dicking

Didnt forget to take his filofax with him though thats full of tactical noose

Non league players. Some had driven 2 plus hours to play and we hardly mustered a chance in the second half.
Absolutely pathetic.

Couldn’t tell who was the league team and who was the national league north side.

If the replay was free entry, I think we’d still struggle to get 5,000.

I’m hoping for a “Dear friends” letter in the next day or two and I really hope we’ve got serious options to guide us through the window and beyond.

I’d never normally advocate potting a manager before Christmas in their first season, but there’s an inescapable destiny awaiting us if we don’t move soon.

Goes well with our one tactic, the long wayward ball.

Well that was absolute dross.

Two very telling quotes from the commentators…

On our passing - “you’d expect better from a league 2 side”.

On the game - “you couldn’t tell who the National league side was”
