Trains are cack. Was supposed to get 9.43 to Carlisle. Arrive in Carlisle for 1.15.
Train cancelled. Have to go to Wolverhampton. Get the 11.43 train from Wolverhampton, get to Carlise for 2.25ish. Hopefully weāll make kick off!!
6.30 out of Wolvo was cancelled caught 7.40 to Preston, in Wetherspoons now Carlisle UTS

Had a good debate/argument with my dad earlier on a scenario where we would lose one and win one against Carlisle in the coming weeks.
I went for the league points (bread and butter and keeps us on the fringes) dad the cup progress (funds for window and maybe something to get a bit excited about for the first time in years).
Itās a tough call.

Iād take a loss in the league and progress in the cup if we had a guaranteed ābig drawā in the 3rd round. But because nothing is certain iād go for the 3 points please.
Lose today and weāre 8 off the playoffs, win and we could be just 2 away. Unless we were guaranteed a top six Prem team away in the third round Iād take the points!

Can be tough. I prefer the cup win, but in this game no injuries and maybe a good result. I hope the MOTM curse wonāt work.
Shouldāve done a poll thing as itās definitely a dilemma.

Might make some value him a little more and see what he actually brings to the team

False equivalence - Iād wager weāve probably lost as many games with him as without him.
Any argument about being a better or worse side will be a review after a few weeks/months - not a one off game.

Iāve said for a while now, I get the more 2 defensive midfielders with 4 at the back (but still prefer more of an 8 next to someone more defensive minded a la the Smith side) - but not with 5 at the backā¦
That makes me thinkā¦ could this be more of a conventional 3412/352 instead ? With White at centre half and Bennett a classic wing back?

I had a similar conversation with our George yesterday. I went for the league points, he is super excited about the prospect of getting to the 3rd round of the cup. Quite understandable from his perspective, but in my mind, the league is every week and it will be a lot more fun if we have a real chance of getting in the playoffs.
