I’m not surprised the formation and the way we play looks disjointed.
The players have had 4 months of playing 352 - it’s almost going to be like a pre season to get it right.
I’ll put my neck out too and say McEntee isn’t a midfielder. Certainly not in a team that will push the top 7. No chance. I have a good record on predicting such things with us
We just don’t have good enough midfielders. Just a very average side.
I don’t think Sadler knows how to train, or execute ‘front foot attacking football”. We have seen it for one half against Crewe… and that’s about it.
I am still not convinced, and we all know what’s going to happen Saturday. Sutton have 1 win all season, which was the opening day…

Big test on Sat, they come away with anything less than a win, and it should be a convincing one, and it’ll confirm it’s business as usual.

Called it after Morecambe. This seasons results will read something along the lines of:
LDWDWLLDWWDLLLDW…
Incremental progress and all that…
Good point , team worked but we are so poor at controlling the ball
mk were class for this level, moved the ball well, pressed excellent , won most the second balls, created the best chances and in the end should have won by a decent margin. The fact they didn’t is more on them missing sitters than us defending well
Evans mom, quality saves and if he was slightly off it we’d have lost
Defence were poor, daniels to me looks really shaky lately. Did some good and some awful
McEntee wasn’t really involved much won’t help you control a game. Need a midfielder in his place comfy on the ball and beating a press
Tierney is decent , no more. Ok squad player
Oteh worked hard and defended very well. My mom for outfield player
Draper looked tired and frustrated. Great player but needs a rest and manager needs to swap him when it’s not working
Should have came of a lot earlier for dj
Stats and eyes don’t lie on this one - we were lucky
Good point poor performance
It was a good cameo from Matt, I’d have thrown Doug Taylor on to try and stretch them a bit and give them something different to think about, but Matt showed some good touches and put himself about. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him start in Saturday, Draper had his quietest game for some time and looked shattered

I’m seeing a few comments “we should turn the likes of them over “ regarding Sutton on Saturday.
This worrries me

We haven’t turned anyone over all season and don’t get over 40% posession any game
We won’t thrash them. At best it’s a hard fought close win
No easy games at this level, we underestimate them at our peril but if we play at or near our best we should (and I think will) win. Question of mentality for me on Saturday.

Boring.
Imagine paying to watch it.
That’s a poor mentality.
They’re awful. We should be going there to dominate them.
We won’t. We play negative football.
Sutton have 4 points from 11 games and a -14 goals difference lets be honest they are crap.
I’d question if they’re actually Walsall fans.
We’re well known for playing mostly dogshite against teams that are near the bottom.

Tonight’s result only looks half decent if we beat the bottom club Saturday for me

Agree.
3pts Saturday means 7 from 3 inc two tricky away games.

It’s not that I feel we’re much better than Sutton, and it should be a walk in the park (literally, given their ground).
It’s that if we truly are improving over the crap we’ve witnessed since we dropped into this hell then these are the games we should win with ease, instead of rolling over for them, like we have done for so many teams, on so many poor runs in the last few years.
I’m sceptical we will though.

The thing is… Sadler is making a rod for his own back. This whole DJ thing is very very easy for the fans to jump on.
Just a very strange situation all round.
