Well just look at the first team players out!! I listed them above!!!
Probably a fair result. They are a very organised, hard working side, a bit like us.
The way it panned out though, Faal knocks that sitter in and we most likely go on to win.
Credit to their keeper for even getting close to that Faal miss (look where he is on the photo above) and he made a cracking save at the death.
Knowles gets loads of pelters but we massively missed his energy down that wing today. There lwb had an easy ride today. Decent point against a very good well drilled side. Tough job on our hands now to get play offs with the injuries piling up. 6 wins from 9 games to be sure.
100 percent agree. Foulkes is fine but not sure he is a wing back just yet.
Barrow are a top side. We were outplayed first 20 minutes or so.
Credit to the lads for sticking at it and grabbing the lead.
No idea how we didnāt score just after half time. Good save by Farman but Faal needs to be clinical at that range and either put his foot through the ball or to the keepers left.
Not convinced by Rollin this eve - is big Dave available Saturday?
Need to win at Colchester and beat Swindon now really. Canāt see us getting much at MK Dons - but with this Walsall side anything could happen.
Our problem has been finishing these last 2 games and Iād like DJ to get some minutes. No way should he be behind DJT.
We wonāt make play offs keep missing chances like we are at the minute. We should (not could) have won the last 2 games. Bottom 2 side away again on Saturday. Deja Vu?
Faal missed at least 2 very good opportunities tonight. Especially the one start of the second half that was easier to score which had he scored Iām sure we would have won and maybe scored a few more . But it woke them up and gave them a life line .
Having said that Barrow are a very hard working team who won most the second balls all over the pitch tonight and deserved there point .
DJ should have had at least 10 minutes for josh who had run his race and was back to committing silly fouls for the last 20 minutes.
if DJ was fit enough for the bench then why not bring him on for the closing stage.
He probably wasnt fit enough for the bench⦠Thats what Sadler said, he didnt want to risk it. and in Fairness, DJT had some good chances when he came on.
I think we just didnt maintain the high tempo for long enough and we were too wasteful playing down the right channel, I really wish we had of tried to push Liam Gordon on abit more and attack through the left with Taylor Allen underlapping⦠thats when we looks most threatening (Fals miss aside).
DJT and Fal were unlucky, distribution into final third lacked consistency.
I thought Barrow were fitter, stronger and much quicker than us tonight.
Our midlfield looked well light with hutch and earing way off their game.
Jack actually really struggled all game and I was surprised MS Dodd t London change that and get some fresh legs on (like barrow).
Having said that we are missing to many chances, and Faal missed 2 sittters.
Hutch looks like he has his shooting boots on the wrong feet and Gordon for all his hard work also misses sitters last few games.
DJT aināt the answer so we need to got Dj fit asap to o have any chance of playoffs
That was a really weird game. We didnāt do anywhere near enough to win, yet Iām hugely disappointed with the draw given the chances we had. All things considered with our patched up side and playing against one of the better sides in the league, I would have taken a point
Make no mistake though, Barrow came for a point, and the sides that are really serious about breaking into the playoffs would have taken the game to them. We seemed to huff and puff but didnāt have the drive to pen them back in their own half and turn the screw. I donāt think weāre quite there yet, maybe missing a couple of more experienced heads to push us forward
I must say that we really missed Knowlesā tenacity and directness tonight. Although I do think heās very wasteful and lacks composure in attacking positions, he still always manages to occupy and engage opposition defences which detracts away from their own attacking play. They had too much time and focus with exploiting our right side, which they did with Newby on Foulkes on many occasions tonight.
With Knowles and Gordon in the team we have wide attacking options on both sides.
The comparison between Knowles and Foulkes is a strange one. Foulkes delivery into the box is often more measured, less wayward than Knowles but Foulkes doesnāt yet have the nous or confidence to present as much of an attacking threat as Knowles, who is busy and energetic in a way that Foulkes isnāt, at the moment.
I was disappointed with Gordon tonight although perhaps the necessary reorganization of the defence left him less certain of when he could move forward.
You could argue that Barrow played well enough to gain at least a point, but. the two points were lost on two key moments, the Faal miss, and one moment of poor defending that led to the penalty.
Itās actually a decent point, given how much we are hit by injuries, but canāt help feeling we have left two points behind there.
I feel that way too but Barrow missed two good opportunities in the first half. We could have easily gone in two one down at half-time.
Oh yeah definitely. I think we tend to view things from a Walsall perspective.
I agree but felt that was also the case at FGR, especially in the second half, I worry he lacks the confidence to take on players at the moment, he has the pace and skill. If he just held onto the ball, beat his man and cut the ball back to Hutch or Fal Gordon could be lethal.
For all of the talking of patching up the defence, I actually think that biggest miss was Jamma. Faal does an adequate enough job in bringing others into play (he also defended really well), but he just hasnāt got the same nouse that Matt has to unsettle defenders and affect the game without the ball
