We have long history of slating young strikers. Faal reminds me of Adebayo at same career stage. Yes he has missed two ridiculous virtual open goals but he has got something. I’d certainly gamble on signing him if Albion release him. Hopefully he can improve here and he might even earn us some money in future. We aren’t in a position to sign the ‘finished article’ whatever that is and even if we were there are no guarentees. So we need to gamble on potential and for me Faal has potential
I remember some on here calling Adebayo bamby on ice just because of his awkward gate and slipping over at the wrong time, but Luton must have seen something in him.
yep, looked to me like it was going in until the deflection
Wouldn’t blame DJT for the 1st chance. The second one although the defender got a good block in DJT seemed a bit hesitant to get the strike away almost waiting for the ball to settle in front of him. He just lacks a true goalscorers ruthless instict to attack the ball in the box.
Not for me, there are just 9 games left and we’re two points off 7th with a game in hand.
We’ve lost 4 of the last 17 league games.
We don’t even need to give it a good go to get there, just need to win half of our games and we have a much easier run in compared to other teams.
Farquharson and Daniels will be back by the end of the month, McEntee possibly end of April, they’ll be big boosts for us going into April.
And even if we marginally miss out, I’d then say this season has been a success, both on and off the pitch.
This is how i see it really, just hang in there.
On reflection this was a very decent point. The important thing is that Barrow didn’t gain on us.
Considering this was a makeshift defence on top of a makeshift defence makes it even more of a decent point.
It’s gonna take me a while to get over Faal’s miss tbh. That goes in and there’s every chance we take 3 points. It’s almost like he’s worried about scuffing his shots or blazing them over the bar so he’s focussed on just keeping it down that much he’s forgetting to aim to get any meaningful power. Like the first chance!
I like Foulkes and think he did alright but Knowles is a constant outlet and could’ve really helped drive us up the pitch at times last night, when let’s be honest we were struggling to knock the ball about!
Fair play to Barrow, they’re a well organised side and they can pass it around nicely even on their dodgy pitch so this was no surprise at the Bescot.
All still to play for, keep the faith, and let’s remember DJ is on the brink now and if we keep creating these chances could get a few important goals for us in the run in!
He has to play first which in Sadler’s case could be never.
It was good to see @Belphegor last night after he’s been slumming it in Spain for over 6 months and a nice pint in the locker pre match with @Belphegor @RedandWhite and @MoreWFCVicar also went down well. It’s the first time I’ve been in and it’s actually a nice place clean and fresh and there were plenty in there. Also nice to me @79walsall for the first time, always nice to put a face to a name
Erm yes and and no, there will be a team/teams who will hit form at some point and go on a similar run to what we did.
You have to ensure that you keep pace, and as it stands we look to be dropping off- granted the injuries have killed us.
We are still in there fighting and in a good position in the table especially in tbe contextvof where we were in Jan and early Feb but the devil is in the detail. If last nights team was a one off then I would be confident of us getting top 7 but unfortunately aside from the addition of Dave coming back in we will have the same personnel for the rest of this month (maybe Matt comes back in slightly earlier). I just don’t see us keeping pace. Not all of the chasing pack are going to stumble along like they seem to be doing at the moment. 1 or 2 are going to hit a good patch of results which I fear will do for our chances
That hesitancy as you put it is exactly what people were saying Fal should have done to avoid his miss.
I just think in the last two games the keepers have been really good rather than our strikers being poor.
Very harsh, they were good chances and matched by good goal keeping and defending. Had that been Smith making the save and Allen clearing the goal line you wouldnt be slating the opposition forwards for being crap.
I think DJT suits being in a front two but regardless he just needs a run of minutes and a goal and could find some form!
They’re both really poor misses and glorious chances in my opinion.
He’s one of my canary down the mine moments for the summer. If we give him a contract then I’ll be both puzzled and worried.
I dunno, pretty good blocks and goalkeeping. Hey at least we are holding our own against higher rated teams bang in form.
As of him signing in the summer I dont see a harm If he is one of several signings, its not like we consistently sign poor players. Im not convinced hes had enough of a chance, maybe a loan spell in Ireland would work well.
Has that been reported?
On a par
Really ? Come on then show us one on that level ….
