D 1-1 vs Colchester United (A) - League Two - Sat 16th March, 3pm

Two weeks without a game now.

We can recover correctly from the recent trot, get a few of the injured back and give the last month a right good go.

We should see it as a free pop with no pressure. Play with freedom and give it the absolute kitchen sink knowing it will end in glory or a well deserved summer break.

All to play for.

We could always appoint Graham Alexander if Bradford don’t want him :face_with_peeking_eye::face_with_peeking_eye::face_with_hand_over_mouth::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Thought the draw was a fair result.
We were the better footballing team but they out muscled us up front and thought Foulks struggled particularly against their wide player.
Felt for Faal, but his flicks and passing too often lost possession. Gordon worked hard & did well up front. Hutchinson and Earring, it didn’t click for them today.
Great saves by Smith. First half to his left and then the penalty.
Still in the hunt.

Seriously? Anything less than 4 home wins should not be accepted?

Foulkes played fine, but was targeted by their physicality. Put some great crosses on

Heartening the strength in depth of this side

Ultimately, signing Johnson on loan last season knackered us and signing Draper on loan this season looks like knackering us again.

Next season we have to go into it with our own strike force signed permanently. My free tip to Sadler and Trivela is that isn’t Gordon and/or Faal.

He was going to sign them both he’s said that himself i would sign one of them but not both not sure which one either tbh.Draper isn’t doing much at Lincoln lets see if it stays that way go in for him in the summer.

Not if we are serious about pushing for that last play-off spot.

In their remaining games they also have to play Mansfield, Wrexham and Barrow.

If he still tries to sign them after seeing them at close quarters I would seriously question his judgment .

Save the pennies , lose another squad player and go big for Draper

whatever Dan Watson is being paid it isn’t enough

🧤 @jackson141001 on his #Saddlers penalty save to keep it 1-1:

ā€œCredit to Dan Watson & Lewis. (During the week), we came to a collective decision as to which way we think he’s going to go. And it’s paid offā€

šŸ“øā¬‡ļø Jackson’s just been asked if he gets a bonus for penalty saves… pic.twitter.com/wiitDI3o2R

Yeh, to pick up just 2 points from the 9 available from FGR, Barrow and Colchester really is disappointing, but it is more in keeping with our form in this division for the past 5 years. Inconsistency has been our only consistency.

The only real positive for me is that in all 3 games we could’ve left with all 3 points had we been clinical, so we are creating chances. We missed a peno at 0-1 at FGR, missed a sitter to make it 2-0 vs Barrow and by all accounts had a couple of v good chances to take the lead in the 2nd half today.

With 11 games remaining, I thought we needed a minimum of 5 wins to make the playoffs. We still do, but from 8 games. I’d be satisfied with going unbeaten now to the end of the season and have a real good go next year.

I don’t think this was a terrible result. We had alot of possession. Dj might well have buried one of those balls bobbing round in the box. A priceless commodity a goalscorer but we have one we dont use. Bizarre. Huge game at mk dons and something to play for over Easter which is a change from seasons gone by

Did Wilkinson get a decent enough reception from us today? Not sure where we were situated in the ground in relation to where players would warm up but I know he didn’t get on…

Sadler has his favourites that might be his main issue.I like Hutchinson but hes clearly been below par and should have been subbed in the last 3 games im not saying drop him but at least let him know he isn’t untouchable by bringing him off occasionally.Like i said i like Hutch be he can frustrate the hell out of me

Josh Gordon runs himself into the ground and puts players under pressure but he is not a goal scorer. I see why Sadler wants him on the pitch, but he will not score us goals.

Faal … well he reminds me soooo much of Adebayo when we first signed him, Bambi on ice I called him, but he made me eat my words, but not sure Faal will do the same, but even if he did he’s not our player, so if he does produce the goods he’ll be off anyway.

Jamma, when he first arrived I wanted him to work out for us but never looked like he would regain his fitness, but wow he is now a forward we are crying out for now he’s injured. If he comes back the same player as before he was injured I would offer him another contract.

DJT scored that one wonder goal but has done very little else, or looks capable of doing much. We hoped he would come good with another season under his belt, but has been very disappointing. DJT and Josh are players Sadler has in his mind to create the press, and are similar players, but we need goals and they aren’t going to get enough between them.

DJ, what can we say, a player most if not all fans wanted signing for the season, but for one reason or another hasn’t had the game time.
If he was on the bench the last couple of games was he not fit enough, was it just to make the numbers up? Today he should of had the last ten minutes imho as we don’t look like getting anything with what we are playing upfront lately, if we hadn’t got goals coming from other areas on the pitch we would be in no mans land.

If we are to get out of this league we will need at least two consistant goal scoring strikers.

Adebayo was better than Faal he could at least control that round thing called a Football from day one.

Far too many draws away from home.

On Hutchinson and Earing, I remember Buckley having a similar problem with some skilful but relatively slight midfields who, in away matches were often bullied out of the game by a more physical approach and referees comfortable not to upset the home supporters.

Hutchinson and Earing did not play badly today but the pitch hardly suited their style of play and the referee was content to allow challenges barely within the rules of the game. Hutch will be more effective against the weaker teams. Just as Buckley’s team need an enforcer, particularly away from home, so does Saddler’s

Re Foulkes, his final ball is usually better than Knowles’ but he does not get forward so often. Knowles frightens the opposition and that is worth a lot.

Finally, Jackson Smith made some super saves, including the penalty. But I wish he did better on crosses. Without Jamma, we looked a bit vulnerable from corners, as well as not being as effective at the other end.
