It isnt all goals and assists. Its about energy passion tackling heading attitude and hunger etc etc Even more admirable when you are not a player for this club. Thats all the stats i need with your bra vest analogy. How many goals and assists did Daniels get yesterday when he was the best player on that pitch yesterday!!

Correct it isn’t

It’s about having players in the team that are capable of doing different things. If all the players offered the same thing we’d be useless….whether that’s 11 battlers or 11 technicians……that’s not how a team works.

No one, least of all me was suggesting Hutchinson or anyone else as a MoM candidate, but I am saying that we are unnecessarily focussing on what we perceive as lack of effort when I don’t think it’s anything of the sort, (I have some running stats that would shock you) and forgetting that quite literally despite DDs heroics and Knowles energy we’d have lost the game without Hutchinsons input. As we would’ve on several other occasions. Again I’m not saying that excuses anything else or that it made him a superstar or even our best player on any of those occasions but he does give us something that no one else does.

We created two chances yesterday and both came from one player. If Daniels was the only player blocking heading or tackling we’d be in all sorts of bother and he’d look very frustrated and exposed too….we may even start questioning all the things he doesn’t do.

Can we just open a thread about Hutchinson?

The problem with Hutchison and Maddox is not with skill but consistency. If both are at it from the whistle they are a joy to watch. Both struggle with putting their feet in and add that to Kinsella being out who can take up their slack then our team changes hence our poorish run. Knowles tries too hard in my opinion and does stuff thats winds everyone including the refs. Wilmott was absolutely out of it after being booked early on and he shouldve been took off. Orient had nearly every player passng and moving for the whole 90 minutes wherehas we had a few who were at it making it difficult for players to find one another. Its not that they can’t because weve seen they can do it. On another note what do you think of Lows ability to pass a football?

Knowles will be young player of the year. Nailed on.

I don’t know about passing, but he could teach Daniels and Monthe how to head a ball at set pieces.

Low is another lump of a player he will do a job at this level in fairness.

Low scored a goal and was our biggest threat to the opposition. Which is abit sad really .

I did a post further up the thread on Low….

Is he really? I thought he was 20/21 :joy: he’s pretty cack then.

Perhaps we can bring him on for the last 20 minutes to score from a set piece

And I’m not blaming you at all but this highlights what I’ve been saying about perception….

Me and my boys were in the ground quite early on Saturday. They like to watch the players training/warming up.

We stood at the front with Low standing directly in front of us making 40 yards passes straight to feet. My youngest lad commented on how good his passing was.

Obviously, this is warming up under no pressure and his passing during the game was very poor. He is still only 20 though and I assume this is his first time playing first team football? There are a lot of good qualities that he has shown so far, notably, he can attack a dead ball better than any of our other defenders. This is what you are going to get when you loan young players that are far from the finished product.

No problem, I genuinely thought he was a babby. If you read my posts, I’m generally optimistic but don’t jizz over individuals.

Even at 24/25 he still has the potential to improve. You can improve quite significantly within a season if certain things click. He has a lot of positive attributes but needs to work on the most important ones which will improve his end product. I’m not saying he will and he could still be a bit of a headless chicken in a few year’s time.
