D 1-1 vs Tranmere Rovers (A) - League Two - Sat 14th Jan, 3pm

Worth remembering we a game or two in hand on a lot of teams.

9 points off automatic promotion with 2 games in hand. Of course we’re in the hunt. Evans saves that today & we’d be 7 points away. Lots of twists & turns to come, but anything other than a playoff berth would be disappointing now. Lump on. UTS

That game really boiled my piss. Truly awful. Just blame the weather to get it out my system

In fact, four points from the postponed games and we’d be top seven tonight (theoretically).

I guess. I’m saying that next season I can see us top5 whereas this season I see us top 10.

I reckon you could get 7th with 70 points this season.

Stands to reason if so many teams are in the ā€œpaceā€ they’ll be taking points off each other in the individual matches.

Considering what Gillingham are signing they will surely be a much tougher team to beat now aswell so some of the bottom teams will start getting more wins as always happens at this point of a season.

Mansfield got 77 points last season to finish 7th, I’d be amazed if it’s close to that this season.

Doesn’t look like we’ve got a ā€˜basket case’ club (Southend, Scunthorpe etc) at the bottom this year, either. Makes everything a little tighter.

Cheeky pint to watch the Everton protest from The Thomas Frost before that curry? Or after?

Fair result. Thought both teams were poor. Feels like 2 points dropped as there’s no doubt had we been a bit more on it they were there for the taking. You’ll get a couple of games like that in a season, the key is to sneak a win or at least get a point in them which we did.

Got a really weird but vaguely familiar feeling towards the end, I’m sure I’ve had it before many, many years ago. It was that although we were away from home, we were down to 10 men and the momentum was with them, we were just as likely to pop up with a winner as they were and we could still win this.

Interesting comments from MF on DJ after the game saying ā€œwe’re all doing as much as we can, Trivela, me, Dannyā€. That says to me that he wants to stay and is not accepting other offers (unless something new that’s amazing comes in) to force Mansfield’s hand and it is down to whether they will let him come without asking a rediculous price. Suggests if he does sign for us it won’t be until the last minute of the window.

Maybe Crawley?

Expected us to be full of confidence today and on the front foot . Which we were for the first 5 minutes. After that I thought we were terrible and created nothing apart from the goal .
Overall disappointed not by the result but the performance and the mind set as they were there for the taking . What today also shows is that we definitely need a box to box midfielder of some quality to realistically threaten the play offs .

I’d have taken a point at 3pm.

Keep the wagon rolling. Long way to go and we are shaping up nicely

If we’ve had illness sweeping through the team this week like MF says, probably explains a lot.

MF said on WM they had a bug this week, which was why Knowles and Hutchinson went off. And that White was playing with a chest infection.

Makes the point an even better result than was given credit for at the whistle.

They’d be strong candidates to end up that way! But as it stands we’ve got no team that is miles adrift getting tonked every week.

Has he come out and said that? It explains a lot as both players looked lacking energy and their usual zip.
