Lump on
Wow, and weāre going to average around 12/1300 for our first three league away games.
The club needs to wake up and fast.
Hard to know what to expect out of this one. On paper a tough away day, but in reality itās probably our best chance out of the opening fixtures for points so far. Iāll take not looking completely bang average and out of it in the first twenty as an improvement on Wrexham.
And for god sake stop sending them out in that awful, atrocious green strip that screams ārelegation candidatesā a bad strip like this can have a negative impact on a teamā¦who chooses these strips? Have they NO imagination?
Canāt see us rescuing even a point tomorrow, if they can put four past Newport they most certainly will repeat similar against their perennial local victims.
Crewe play in red and white, so weāll be in green tomorrow
When Flynn first arrived the story was that heād made Newport defensively solid in the first 12 months and then improved the style of play gradually until they were playing some decent stuff.
Though itās only early doors, perhaps he thinks they already have players capable of playing a possession style? After some of the football Swindon have played over the past 2 seasons Iād be surprised heās sold a hit and hope philosophy to get the job.
That said, Swindon have played one game less than us and Iād say weāve had tougher opposition.
So, thatās another defeat then?
3rd time lucky?
Like it or loath it I reckon we have bigger issues than the colour of the kit .
Honestly, my next door neighbour is a consultant for loony tunes and confirms how important surroundings and structure etc in sport can have negative effect (or should that read affect?) on human beings. Right over me 'ed son, I just know that the green strip is beyond grotesque. Just screams that this lot will be easy pickingsā¦
I donāt know about that, think thatās just in your head, but I do fail to see how green can be the best colour when trying to pick out a team mate because it is naturally camouflaged against the colour of the pitch.
I thought that when i saw them run out on tues evening. Surely if you want / need a contrast to the home and away kits then a blue or dark grey would have been better and weāve had those previously.

because it is naturally camouflaged against the colour of the pitch.
Itās also a colour that gets lost at pitch level because it blends in to the crowd. Dull colours do that (I remember a grey united kit they literally had to change at half time).
I do find the kits baffling this year. The only time we need an alternative kit is when the oppo team wears red. So what do we do with the away kit? Splash red all over it. Then the one we actually use is a horrible green number.

I do fail to see how green can be the best colour when trying to pick out a team mate because it is naturally camouflaged against the colour of the pitch.
That must be why Plymouth never do any good. Oh, hang on ā¦

Plymouth
Biggest city never to play in the top flight. Coincidence?
I have also never understood why āawayā kits are used so frequently when the opposition is in a totally different colour etc why do we wear white, or green? why canāt we play in our own colours?
Happens throughout the EFL and I have never understood why teams cannot play in their own strip when it is in complete contrast to the opposition!
Comes to somat donāt it when our team is so bad we end up talking about strips for interest after yet another defeatā¦
Weāve only won once in our last 18 games against Crewe! There has been plenty of goals in their games, so should be entertaining at least.
Completely agree! Itās a real pet peeve of mine about modern football. You should wear your home colours unless there is a clash in my opinion. A teamās colours is part of its identity and I hate seeing that given up needlessly.
Then again if you are going to bring out three shirts every year and charge an obscene amount of money for them, I suppose you have to justify it in some way by wearing them as much as possible.
Wonder what the longest non win away streak is in league 2?
We must be close to breaking it and I believe itās something we may actually be able to do!

Weāve only won once in our last 18 games against Crewe!
Was that 3-0 away under Smith? Baxendale and Westcarr scoring?
