Doncaster Rovers (A) Tue April 1st, 7.45pm

Stirk brilliant again in the middle breaking the play down but is absolutely S H I T with his distribution of the ball.gives it away or miss places it every time.
Hes the 1 saddler needs to drop saturday now

I knew if I went it would have been the kiss of death but a big shout out to those that went loud and proud
The lucky shirt is put away for Saturday
Oh and DJ is a Saddler

I have to say, I thought he should have been taken off, but fair play for the goal.

We have signed all these strikers, and DJ is still our most prolific.

He proves it over and over again. I’m not even saying start him, but as someone else mentioned, they brought on Sharp to try and win, DJ wouldn’t have come on if they didn’t score.

Sadler reminds me of Danny larusso before he met Mr Miyagi! :chopsticks: Im sure he’ll put it all together for us in league 1! :grimacing:

looks to me now that it’s 4 maybe 5 teams in contention for the 3 Automatic spots with us in pole position.
Feeling much more confident after that gritty performance. UTS

That could turn out to be a massive point! Huge game on Saturday now against Fail. Come on you Saddlers!!! :red_circle::white_circle::black_circle:

Agreed. That is a massive point tonight. I had Doncaster and Vale as my two promotion favourites, along with Chesterfield and MK Dons (yeah, I know!!). I reckon Wimbledon are out of contention for top 3 - if we can just not lose on Saturday then we should be able to do this!

I must be the only one enjoying the drama of all the twists and turns of this season. Probably because I an an incorrigible optimist and am convinced it will all turn out ok in the end.

I’m not sure he has been briliiant breaking up play. As a post above said, he seems to come out of challenges he should win without the ball.

I stuck up for him earlier in the season, but he is struggling at the moment.

For me mate he’s far far too passive and nonchalant about possession and tackling…

He used to be so much more aggressive and assertive but now seems to have lost those qualities and has turned 180 degrees the other way

Fantastic entertainment if nothing else.

Re DJ: the point here is that he is just the man you want when you are pressing for a goal. That is different from playing him from the start. On Saturday, it would have been great to bring him on.

Levi looks like he could really develop into something special.

A pity that we conceded two goals from missed tackles, one from Weir and the other from Stirk.

On the way back now.

I thought we were the better side and we show great guts to keep coming back after conceding but Sadler doesn’t help himself.

That was crying out for fresh legs about 60/70 minutes and we gradually allowed Donny to grow in dominance.

I can’t help but feel we concede way too much initiative - we were the better side tonight but lucky to come away with the point, and it’s down to the cautious approach.

Still it’s another great result, and other results couldn’t really have gone any better for us.

Let’s get right behind the lads on Saturday - we need every Saddler at that game

They will be 100% up for it and their form is hot right now

Could be a cracking atmosphere and game

Crewe still fighting for a playoff place, so could be a crucial last game of the season. Lots can happen between then tho…

Still no win away on a Tuesday night, 2 wins in 15, 0 wins in 8

I know where your coming from.
I thought he made a couple of good interceptions tonight.yeah he lost a lot of 50/50s but his passing was atrocious again.simple balls that should be so easy for him

Deserved at least a draw tonight. Can’t fault the effort and the shift they put in.

Vale will be full of it on Saturday knowing they could do to us what we did to them when they were top. We look much more up for it these last 2 games so let’s get that win against the Burslem mob.

Three and a half years since we won away on a tuesday night.
And were still top of the league👍🏻

Just posted on the other 23 thread - Watch Chesterfield in the run in - last 6 is 5 wins and a draw

Great character shown. Whatever our current shortcomings are they don’t include lack of guts and team spirit. Saddlers has the team giving there all. His lack of experiance and stubbornness all though apparent, can be remedied. Let’s beat Fail on Saturday.
Wish I coulld be there. At the moment. 25% chance. Come on you Saddlers. UTS
