Doncaster Rovers (A) Tue April 1st, 7.45pm

Yes although the goal came from a mistake by Weir, who otherwise had a decent game.

I’m a huge Evan Weir fan, love watching him play.
Extremely technically gifted with bags of potential, will only keep getting better.

Bonus of moving Allen into midfield is that it allows him to play

Where do you think Evan’s best position is? Left-sided centre-back in a 3, midfield? I’m not sure he has the pace for left-back or wing-back. But he has a wand of a left foot.

In the second half they hoofed a ball clear, Weir was the last man back, he took it immaculately from over his shoulder and ran around the attacker.

Absolutely outstanding footballer.

Re: let’s talk about the Walsall game

I spoke to a Walsall fan at work today. He is going to the game but not confident. He said the manager is killing them. Apparently he is reluctant to rotate players so some have played over 3000 minutes so are knackered
He also said they are rubbish
It might be a crap game but I don’t care as long as we win.
PS. There again he did didn’t he:joy::joy::joy:

I think right now definitely LCB. Outside of that maybe slightly better suited to LB in a 4 than LWB in a 5 but I think he’s quick enough to get by. The huge benefit of both is that you get his quality in the final third more often, exhibit A County away.

Midfield is different as you have to play with your back to goal and receive on the turn, Allen’s obviously had some experience up front so more accustomed to it.

Not easy to push a defender forward even with loads of technical ability, just look at Trent in the Euro’s, lost

Ill get in there early for Saturday…3-1 to the saddlers with Ned Kelly, Sam Perry and Brendan Kiernan with the goals

I never celebrate last minute equalisers unless it’s a relegation or title decider or it’s in the cup and gets us ET, A replay, Penos.

We shouldn’t be happy with a draw.

Lightweight! When we score a last minute equaliser I punch myself in the face because I am so angry.

I remember a game at Rochdale when Dean Smith was manager. I think we were leading until late on in the game and then Rochdale scored 2. Then Andy Butler equalised right at the end. I think it was 3-3

I was halfway between delighted but still angry! Not angry enough to punch myself though.

One of my favourite Walsall goals! Dale come back from two down and think they’ve got it won. We punt it straight from kick off and Butler heads in from the edge of the box!

The goal basically relegated them and went a long way to keeping us up.

“Scraped a point”……
Really, just because we got a last minute equaliser, that equates to scraping a draw?
If Amantchi scores that “goal” at Bescot, it’s probably awarded, and the way we were playing, may have gone on to win
Is that really “scraping”?
The lack of positivity in your posts does astound me, you need to erase the negativity in yourself, it’s not good for your wellbeing

“What’s that skip? You’ve got an up date on what I said the other day, to try and cheer up some of the usual moaning minnies.

So after last night if everyone plays to there form for the last 6 for the next 6 (7 for Donny), then it’ll be:
Vale 82, Donny 79, Us 77, Bradford 77.
Potentially 3rd on goal difference.
So this weekend is vital, if we beat Vale that puts us on track for 82, Vale heading for 79.
That’ll win us the league 2wins and 4 draws.
A draw against Vale points us to 78 and Vale to 81 and a 3rd place finish for us.
Regards Donny if they draw or lose their game in hand we should finish above them.
A lot more optimistic now, essentially we should be up now and it’s just about keping ahead to be Champions. :boom: :trophy:

Our recent results have been worse than each of the six teams, (Port Vale, Barrow, Newport, Accrington, Harrogate and Crewe) we have yet to face. Even Accrington and Harrogate have done better than us over the last six matches.

Over the last 12 matches only Accrington, of the teams we have still to play, at 12 points from 12, is worse than our 13 points from 12.

While I am still optimistic, we should not assume we have some easy fixtures to come.

Agreed, the way we’ve been playing recently (generally) there are no easy fixtures.

I hope that Acc/Barrow/Harrogate/Newport might go easy on us if they know they are safe from relegation and only pride to play for

Isn’t ‘only having pride to play for’ worse in some way? No pressure to perform, no worry about relegation or promotion, a chance to play risk-free football with no repercussions. A chance to ruin a club’s promotion hopes just for sh1ts and giggles!

It can go one of two ways. Sometimes teams just go through the motions. A bit like Doncaster did on the last day of the season at Bescot a couple of seasons ago.

It can go how you said, though, and there is also players who are playing for contracts. Nothing is guaranteed.

Anyone remember Blackpool turning up last game under Kenny needing a win to go up. It was a dead rubber for us. Ian Mcparland grabbed a couple - magic ruined their big day out
