Someone with a bit of experience to challenge for a first team spot and push DJ and Matt
Thatâs a bit daft though. Itâs about fighting for a place in the starting line up. You donât have two nailed on starters and two kids as injury back up if you want to get promotion.
Last season Iâm pretty sure DJ was normally subbed off around the 75th min - probably to preserve him. Unfortunately that usually meant that Williams went on instead lol! If DJT is to be used as back-up for DJ then maybe those 15 mins here/20 mins there would help develop his game? (as it shouldâve been done last season imo)
It may have transpired that way, but Williams wasnât signed as a back up. He was supposed to be first choice.
How about signing one with a chance of putting a 35 year old Jamille Matt on the bench who barely scored a goal last year?
Do you think that might be the idea behind Draper?
He could turn out to be theâ NEW â Bernie Wright big unit and Raw .remember him perhaps not
I think thatâs a hell of a risk on a kid whoâs only scored in a farmers league.
You canât just add 2 years onto him to prove your point.
34 this season so one year, not two. My apologies.
It was probably because he looked about 75
Exactly my point itâs nonsense we donât have to be jumping through hoops at every signing we make as it stands we wonât trouble the top 7 we donât have enough going forward again.
I hope they sign someone else and prove me wrong though.
Should have kept Stevens. He showed glimpses of real quality against Doncaster. These 2 strikers pointless. We never learn do we
In your poor opinion.
You would have paid a transfer fee for him?
Not sure about that.
Heâd be the first one moaning about signing a crock.
i suggest that you take a look at the list of strikers who scored 10 or more during the last season in League 2.
then tell me who in that list we could reasonably expect to sign.
Jamie Reed, Paddy Madden, Paul Smyth?
Whyâs that the level? This lad has played 8 games and scored none in a relevant English league.
Almost like thereâs a middle ground.
These guys Iâve listed have scored 10 goals last season in the league that weâre playing in. I suggest that anyone with a lower record would be criticized as being not good enough for the naysayser on here.
Yeah, you didnât answer my point:
Youâd think people would learn their lesson about ânaysayersâ and whinging about what they say, but apparently not.
More interesting point is that two of the top 3 had an even spread of goals across the team, rather than an out an out prolific no.9 banging them in week in week out. We will need more goals from Midfield next season
