Douglas James-Taylor Signs (Again)

What’s wrong with taking a punt on a young player? It ain’t going to break the bank. Give the kid a chance.

It’s a cheap no lose option by the club. At first I was Meh (see above) but perhaps not such a bad signing after all.

I’ve gone from optimism and back to pessimism in the space of an hour.

What a dreadful signing. I hope he does well, but if this is the standard of player we are going after then another season of mediocrity awaits.

Didn’t see much from him. Hopefully it’s a cheap deal, taking that cheap Tammy Abraham place in the squad.

Fook me talk about a melt down

I’d just rather the money spent on quality to be honest.

Tat. 5th sub at best. That’s the Walsall recruitment I remember.

Jaysus.

I didn’t think he did too badly given the staggered playing time he had. Sadler obviously sees something in him, I couldn’t judge any striker who’s service in Flynn’s football consisted of a 60 yard launch upfield. Pre season optimism will never die in me

Can we stop slamming young players? it’s pointless. Reckon it’s from the same posters who didn’t rate Adebayo signing.

I would like to think that our supporters will give him encouragement and give him a chance. I think he has shown some attributes and his holding up play improved as the season wore on. He clearly has pace and power. Just needs to learn how to use it to best effect. Maybe Jamile Matt will help to mentor him and improve him. Things like this have happened before.

The good moments he had were when the ball was played in to feet. He seemed to have good movement in short situations, decent control of the ball at his feet. The goal in the FA Cup against Carlisle epitomised his strong points. I think, from what I hear, Sadler will play football and thus play to his strengths. He is certainly no hoofball, chase it, physical battle player.

Wow that’s poor.

None of us had sat through trying to watch Adebayo play football before he signed.

I wouldn’t be too concerned, he spent half a season telling us Hutchinson was awful. He’s really not known for his talent ID skills

Bad isn’t it ? As I’ve said on another thread… if that’s the new data analytics approach - I wonder what data led them to this decision?

Well, for a start, someone mentioned “goals per minutes played” above!

“We’re doing things totally differently … and it just so happen that means appointing a bloke who was already here as manager and a striker who was shit the first time around”.

I can kinda understand it if he is 5th choice or something. It probably wouldn’t look as bad if we get DJ and another quality striker in…

But that’s a poor one that.

He’s probs on about a grand a week at most, I’d imagine most quality players are on well over double if not treble.

Could be someone we even loan out and develop. Certainly lost that side of this football club in recent years.

If he starts come morecambe away though yes that’s an issue
