Factor in the back end of the other season.
Two pre seasons
Plus knowledge of working with these players
To not produce this season … first 5/6 game will result in massive pressure for him to go
I wasn’t impressed following the start to last season. I was glad we picked up a bit after Xmas, but the same issues plagued us in April that did in August … thsts down to nobody else but Sadler
Thank you for posting this. Some positivity after a dreadful performance! Frustrating to watch after a promising performance against Blues on Saturday. Still, neither counts for anything at the end of the day.
Great to hear - however I am sure the Women’s Institute of Grantham have a nice togetherness and work ethic too.
Did you ask them about the long ball and negative tactics? I’d love to know if they’re frustrated with it.
It also seems the players are too friendly with Sadler - and there isn’t much accountability or discipline. Just what I infer from yours and others comments. Is he a manager or their mate?
I’m probably being too cynical - however… my major gripe is that the football is negative, defensive and ponderous. Really awful.
Jack Earing looked like he’d been there since the day before. In fairness to him, I’d find it hard to describe how frustrated he is with his own injuries. He really got across how much he hates it, but he also said he’s hoping to be fit for the start of the season.
It was great to see the shape of the team last night, I can see us picking up points with how solid we looked throughout the middle and back. All we need to do is draw 30 and win the rest and we will be fine.
Looks like there was some great interaction between the players and fans last night from what I’ve seen today saw a video of big Dave singing with a Walsall flag wrapped round him
Absolutely fantastic 3 days , shame about the football but the aftermatch party with the players was a great night.
Definitely getting to old for this now,!
I know the result wasn’t perfect but I think it has brought the fans and the players closer together and that is not a bad thing at all!
@el_nombre, I’m even seeing your more open and self deprecating side. Loving the new you, my friend.
If we’re all like this when we haven’t got a team that’s pulling up any trees (yet), imagine the feel good factor if we actually manage to string a few decent results together!
Regardless of the performance in what was, after all, a friendly, the idea of bringing players and supporters together after the game seems to me to be genuinely positive and unlike previous regimes.
The players appear to be pretty happy with the set up, too. I suppose you could dismiss the event as PR but that would be cynical as those there are telling us it felt genuine.
And maybe that was the whole purpose?? match was of ‘little importance’… The bringing together of fans and players on a level plain worked wonders by sounds of things…
