Drogheda

And Cross, Kelly and Clarke.

To be fair, Draper only played just over half a season and missed some games too didn’t he? So he was on target for around 20 had we been able to keep him.

I agree with your point but I don’t see where the goals are coming from the rest of the team. I can see Lakin getting some, he made lots of runs on Saturday without much reward for his efforts, but I think it will come.

Beyond that it seems hard to tally up a decent amount. Center backs off corners seem most likely. We still don’t know what our final squad will look like so I do hope we can sign a forward that can chip in with 10+ goals at least.

Stuart Rimmer?

You’re including two players there that only played half a season for us and were incredibly missed when they chipped in January. You still need a decent striker at this level.

Just out of interest (one for the statto’s) what was the best Letaio and Bradshaw ended up with in a season?

Letaio got 18 in his first season in 00/01

Bradshaw scored 17 in both seasons he was here

No, his best in the League was 13 goals which was the season we sold him in Feb or March, so if we’d kept him he might have got to 20 goals. Before that it was 8 in his first half season and 10 when he played a full season.

Pretty good returns in higher divisions. Cheers Bags :+1:

I seem to have a blind spot about Kelly’s goals. I stand corrected but no one for 30 years still.

If we need 7 strikers to generate 31 goals we are going to need more than two additions in that department to get to the figures required for promotion this year!

We only tended to play 2 at any time…

But you are right because Sadler likes to play 2 to start and then change both. He couldn’t do that on Saturday because he didn’t have anyone else.

Probably explains a lot.

Ah fair enough.
I was guessing from memory.

He did play in an awful Walsall side though, about the only bright spot really.

I doubt anyone on here would argue with that.

Who’s the best striker we have had in recent years for goals per game ? Bradshaw ? Oztumer ?

Per minutes played:

Mo Faal 153.33
Danny Johnson 158.76
Freddie Draper 181.70
Elijah Adebayo 226.33
Coalan Lavery 281.29
George Miller 286.75
Conor Wilkinson 292.62
Jake Scrimshaw 306.00
Jamille Matt 322.13
Armide Oteh 341.00
Josh Gordon 359.86
Kieran Phillips 372.20
Timmy Abraham 431
DJT 450.80
Andy Williams 596.67
Matty Stevens 813.00
Rory Gaffney 1355.00

There’s a few that never scored. Osei-Yaw, Cashman, a few youth teamers. I’m only doing since relegation. Too depressing.

For what it’s worth, Bradshaw was 176.57 and Oztumer was 223.75
