That’s a good shout if I am picking and choosing next season.

Did they??

They did some sort of offer but nobody paid in the summer as little as they would have done in the Spring under the early bird prices.

Fair enough, I just remember something happening not long after signing DJ. It hardly amounts to them holding their nerve, and in reality, it probably had little or no effect on this summer’s sales either way.

The point I was making was more the impact on this current early bird period sales. This provides much needed cashflow for the club over the summer. Had they re-introduced the early bird prices last summer (for the 2nd consecutive summer) plenty wouldn’t have signed up in the current period and waited until the summer to purchase expecting we would have once again lowered prices to the ‘early bird’ ones. The fans who buy early in plenty of advance time until next season and without the luxury of seeing what division we are in and which players come and go should be suitably rewarded for their blind loyalty to the club.

Think this was the promotion

And my point was that they didn’t exactly hold their nerve regarding the calls for the early bird to be reopened, even if the full discount wasn’t given, they still backed down in some respects.

I don’t think it is a bad idea actually, to have a later date to buy by where you still get a reasonable discount on the full price season tickets, which really are expensive based on last season.

I wouldn’t disagree with you, a limited window in the summer to get your season ticket at a reduced price compared to full price, makes people think they’re getting a good deal even as you say that many might think the ‘full’ price to be rather expensive and as long as that price is more than what I pay for my early bird when committing up front.

I think they did hold their nerve because there was something of a clamour for early bird prices given we did it the previous summer and the underwhelming appointment of Sadler as manager.

I’ve renewed mine last night uts.

Renewed my season ticket yesterday and apart from one year in the mid90s when I was unemployed have had a ST since 1979. Must be a glutton for punishment, although I am more optimistic than I have been for a number of years.

The year I was born. Not to make you feel old or anything.:wink::laughing:

Me and my lad renewed today. He was deliberating for the past month whether to do so or not but has done so at the 11th hour. My nephew, alas, after over 10 years of going together, has decided not to renew and opted for the Menbership option instead.
