EFL Awards 2025

EFL Awards tonight.

Mat Sadler should be in attendance, along with Nathan Lowe, up for Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

I would also expect to see Taylor Allen and perhaps one more (Barrett / Jellis) in League Two Team of the Season.

However, given that the votes are cast quite early, could Sadler get Manager of the Year for League Two and then get sacked in the morning?

Walsall’s social media department could be an interesting watch in the next 24 hours…

For me it’ll be Darren Moore for Manager of the Year, Luke Molyneux for Player of the Year and Nathan Lowe for Young Player of the Year

Allen and Lowe to be the Walsall representatives in League 2 Team of the Year

Imagine if it’s Sadler!

After yesterday’s ‘incident’, maybe Shrewsbury might appeal to him.

To be fair, no offence to Walsall, but Shropshire is a beautiful part of the world and it might suit everybody if the people behind the scenes came to some kind of agreement.

I get the impression that Appleton has not gone down well with all the Shrews fans but I personally love his no nonsense approach. it could be a perfect storm for both teams.

Taylor Allen and Connor Barrett make it into League 2 Team of the Year

If I was Sadler I’d be pulling a sickie.

I wouldn’t want to show my face.

Allen is a deserving winner. I suppose at the time of the voting, which always seems way too early, you could have made a good case for Barrett too.

He’ll be there - it’s exactly where he wants to be

Happy for Allen.

Both deserved. Taylor is my player of the year by a distance. Connor had a fantastic first half of the season but like a lot of the team he’s fatigued. In his first season in the efl he’s done good.

If the time of the vote was the new year Sadler will win manager of the year :shushing_face:

Maybe they are waiting until 2moro to sack Sadler to avoid the personal humiliation of making a manager of the year nominee unemployed?

Where’s lipuisic in the team of the year…joke

Unsure how Lowe didn’t make the full team supposing he was nominated for the player of the year

Agreed. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Cheek get the trophy…

Well done to both of them. Fully deserved.

Neither of them look like they want to be there.
