FA Cup Round 2 Draw v Alfreton (a)

Back to the TV Picks, we’ll know by the week-end (as well as the date of the game).
Cray Valley’s exploits might have put another game in contention. The TV might go with go with the undecided replay: Gillingham v Cray Valley or Charlton. If they don’t get the fairy tale game, they’ll have a Kent derby to broadcast instead.
While last year there were four ties broadcast, it was six the season before (21/22). That might have been a Covid exception though? If all else fails we’re surely guaranteed an extended highlights package and around £12.5k)

kind of hope its not on tv as it would mean an awkward kick off time

BBC didn’t even mention our tie in their write up for the draw, so doubt they’ll pick us. ITV twice in a row seems unlikely too.

I reckon:
Chester/York v Wigan
Eastleigh v Reading
Wimbledon v Ramsgate
Aldershot v Stockport
Wrexham v Yeovil (S4C)

I wouldn’t be too pleased with that if I was an Alfreton fan.

Let’s hope Alreton has some decent hotels!!:joy:

I’d say that’s a pretty good guess at the selection.

Winning tonight

On a roll! They will be a different challenge to Sheppey. They look quite physical - nice opener too, about 1:00 minutes in, below:

Good news…I see Wrexham have just crept into the list.

BBC smelling an upset. There is only two divisions between us so makes sense and not beyond the realms of possibility in view of how badly we start games.
Just hope we can field a strong side and we perform!

£60K, I did edit the post but hid it in the FA text. Sorry.

Yes they are. Alfreton are the form team in NL North. Win their game in hand and they are breathing down Tamworth’s neck. They had a very good win against Worthing in the last round, who are in the NL South play-off places. I’m not as confident about this one as I would like to be.

They like potential giant-killings until round 3, when the chance to put on two Premiership teams live becomes priority.

Out of those games I’d say we’re the second most likeliest league club to be knocked out by a minnow after Reading away to Eastleigh.

Edited that for you

Brilliant, I’ll be missing this one then due to sodding work. Telly was my only hope due to it probably being moved to a different day but no, they stick to the Saturday. Early kick off is worse for me as well. Later i would have been there. I hate work

I was in Lake District for Sheppy tie and will be in the Lakes again for this one. Let’s hope we get the same result.
