Fans back in stadiums?

Are you moaning about people moaning?

Shame as their grandad (mid 80s) use to stay over quite often. He is missing so much that he won’t be able to get back.

From the BBC:

In a statement issued on Thursday, the English Football League said it was “awaiting further details from government officials” having “proposed that each club should be given the opportunity to stage a pilot on either 19 September or 26 September should they wish”.

Premier league also putting a bit of pressure on it would seem…

Just so reminded me of the day the wife and I sat down at a game that was very sparsely attended, we were crud at the time, I think the attendance was about 3K, when we were attacked by a guy as if we had broken into his house on Christmas day and pithed on his kids because we were sat in HIS seat!

I think there’s a lot of old people that would rather take a risk and carry on as normal than live there lives lonely

Me :nerd_face::nerd_face::nerd_face::nerd_face:

Why do people equate being old to being lonely,I’m nearly 65,which I don’t consider being old,but I wouldn’t “take a risk” with my health for any reason.

Anyone manage to get to a non-league game yesterday? If so what was it like?

I didn’t as was down seeing the folks but had I not been I’d have been at Marine who won with a last minute controversial goal (was it or wasn’t it over the line).

Seen footage and it is fair to say there were “scenes”.

Whilst capacity is reduced at a ground like Marine’s (from around 2,500 to 400),where there are only three sides and you are at liberty to move around all three, in a crowd of say 350, you will have 250 behind the goal. And when that goal goes in at an end that is predominantly terrace, there is a lot of movement. You can’t police that and neither should you try. Makes an absolute nonsense of Walsall not being allowed a few thousand in.

Surely it’s only a matter of time before we can go back.

I find it stupid that from today you can only meet up with six people, you can go to the pub with these six people, you can go to the shops with these six people and you can have these six people round your house.

But you can’t go with these same six people to a football game? Rubbish.

As long as each club can provide those responsible with plans and evidence that they can provide a socially distanced venue, then they should be able to host an event.

On the flip side of that argument, you can’t socialise in a friends back garden but you can attend a football match in the same stadium with three thousand other folk.

It’s all so very contradictory.

On the contrary I find the governments position pretty simple:

If there’s a till, knock yourselves out! Just whatever you do don’t go and see your Nan!

And on that basis football crowds may well have a shot at coming back!

Not in Birmingham Solihull and Sandwell where you can’t have anyone round from Tomorrow

Alright if you’re interested in certain sports.:roll_eyes:

Disgraceful when Gove flatly refused to exempt small children so their birthday parties could go ahead. The Tories will never get a vote off me as long as I live and I vote normally according to policies produced, not by party.

I’ve seen it elsewhere saying " Shooting and hunting are exempt, because they are outdoor physical activities that require a license."

Went to Rushall v Stourbridge, was good to watch a live game again.

Had to have your temperature taken before entering and complete track and trace.

Once inside obviously easy to social distance although there were lots that weren’t, standing together in big groups. Every time someone came to stand next to me I just moved!

For the all seater stadiums I don’t think there would be any issues plus the stewards would probably be more inclined to enforce the social distancing. There’s been quite a few test events now without any issues as far as I know so can’t be long before they let us in!

Was talking to someone that has gone to their apartment in Tenerife yesterday, and they said they were constantly monitored by infra red temperature monitors from the moment they landed, all the way through passport control to the baggage carousel and the car hire office.
