Why were we heading the ball against a huge side? They defended very well, we had no chance of winning anything in the air, yet we persisted playing head tennis. We also don’t do well playing on bad surfaces, not that that’s an excuse, but we don’t.
We absolutely got nothing from the referee, all game long, blatant free kicks totally ignored. There really is some very poor officiating in this league.
A really frustrating 2 games for us, we’ve offered nothing at all.
Etthan is showing some promise, but he’s certainly no Nathan and is showing how badly he is missed!
Ethan needs to toughen up a bit - to be fair to the lad he hasn’t played men football much before. Need to stick with him -but he might not be an automatic starter based on tonights performance.
Very very ordinary. The amount of time that the ball was in the air, just like Saturday, was not the way we play. In both games our midfield was pushed back playing ten or more yards deeper.
A rubbish night, beginning with Sky+'s failure to do their job properly.
Not the kind of player we need at this stage of the season.
Looked like a kid playing in men’s football.
Just frustrated tonight as once again so many off it.
The defending was poor . Not helped by a weak goalkeeping performance and the midfield looked non existent.
Are you seriously writing Wheatley off after that?
He got absolutely no service and I don’t recall one pass into his feet or a ball for him down the channel . Christ it’s a bit early to write him off after that poor lad !
Hard to judge the forwards from the last 2 games. Wheatley seems physically sharp and would look a different animal in a game such as the Tranmere and MK Dons ones where we were peppering their box and camping out 30 yards from their goal.
He’s new to the team
The team has hit a poor patch as he’s joined us
He’s not had much promotion competitive ‘Mens football’ in his career
He’s not had a full 90 minutes for us yet
He’s not had Jamma to partner him up front and give him an experienced leading hand
Finally, we shouldn’t compare him to Lowe - totally different quality level and that’s not his fault
We must have seen something in him so let’s give him a chance eh?
Absolutely but when we haven’t got much strength at top he can really break up play at the back and he is a great captain. The games he has played he’s been brilliant
Agree with all your points, but that’s what makes me question wether it was the right signing. Big ask for a kid with next to no experience of proper football.
Lowe was superb. But remember he was in some pretty crap performances with us. MK away, Fleetwood at home, Charlton home.
Wish he was still here but fairly certain we still lose these last 2 games with him. We created nothing of real note in either.
Matt was the bigger miss in both games. Also would suggest we would have defended their 2 set pieces better tonight with Matt in our box.
As predicted much wailing and gnashing of teeth, possibly even some rending of clothes.
But, basically the way they play is the kryponite that means Sadsball fails, it’s the way to beat us.
Not helped by some of the team still not appearing 100% over sickness.
Also enjoyed the requests for Lakin to come on, after he got so much shit for not being on it against Bradford. And good to see that Simkin is back to being a problem along with Osh in midfield.
Still 11 points clear, still got to lose at least another 4 in a row to f88k it up.
As fans we all want promotion. Im just wondering if that is what Trivelas model is.
Standing back, you could argue that their model as investors is to bring in youngsters with the right attributes supported by older mentors in order to develop them and sell for a profit.
Maybe they have been caught out by our surprisingly superb start to the season.
Do they now stick or twist?
