Fleetwood (A) - League Two - Jan 28th 7.45pm

We had a midfield of Osbourne, Osborne and Osbourn in the past so i don’t see the problem :rofl:

Looks like we’re still a couple short from our strongest 11 so would take a point on the road given Saturdays result and the result last time we played these

I think those comments about Jamma and Jellis were made straight after the Bradford game

Twice nightly Whitely. Two for him tonight then.

Jellis might have picked up that Black Country virus called cowvid.

We lost 6-2 to this lot then went unbeaten in the league until Saturday.Time for these to start another run of unbeaten form I reckon.3-0 to the Saddlers.

Hopefully we are fired up for this one given the way they celebrated their goals at our place. A draw wouldn’t be the worst but I really hope we get our own back.

Got a bad feeling that we are going to have a significant dip in form … 3:1 loss

Unusually for me not confident for this one…
But wtf 1-3 win with Wizz kid Wheatley, Frozone Adomah and Flash Gordon. Combining for superheros treble.

At our place Fleetwood did to us what we have been doing to everyone else - tight press and fast attack. We did manage to make chances but didn’t put away the ones we had second half, and our defence as a unit had a mad 45 minutes.

Bradford did much the same - and it worked again!

Expecting Fleetwood to try repeating the same approach tonight. I’m hoping MS has learned and has a tactical ace up his sleeve to not fall for it a third time. It might be time for Stirkley to return and be a bit tighter in midfield?

Add McEntee too effectively make it a back 8?

I guess it depends if Jellis is able to play, but retreating and adding a player that can’t/won’t pass forward would possibly make it worse and play into their hands.

Go and get in their faces would be my choice.

Bradford was because of too many under par performances in my opinion, I still have no idea about the Fleetwood game, still a mystery, everything they shot went in.

I’ll take a draw, stop any run of defeats and another point towards the promised land of division 3.

Nice and solid tonight, might even snatch something at the other end.

Feeling good about this one. We’ve just got to be positive without being reckless. 3-1 saddlers

I think in the Fleetwood home game we panicked after going behind and tried to go all out attack which left us even more vulnerable at the back.

That game actually seemed to teach us a lesson, and in future games when we went behind we carried on just doing our thing and the goals came without forcing it.

My thoughts on the Fleetwood home game, because it was a very interesting game

  • They played out from the back and used their goalie to circulate the ball more than any other team we’ve played this season.

This allowed them to combat our aggressive press which has destroyed a lot of other teams.

  • They worked and pressed extremely hard themselves.

This meant our defenders had no team to pick out passes and were caught in possession themselves

  • They wound our fans up more than any other team, celebrating in front of us each time they scored

It’s hard to gauge how much this affected the game. But it is interesting in my opinion. The only other team to wind up our fans I’ve noticed were Bromley, but that was through time wasting and games manship. Against both Bromley and Fleetwood we lost winning positions. Might just be coincidence, or might be something psychological the team and Sadler needs to consider and plan for.

Anyway for whatever reason Fleetwood haven’t maintained their performance levels, so I think we will just have to put the home game down as a one off.

I think we will win tonight 1-2.

Crewe wound the fans up also, but it got put on to the ref cos he didn’t deal with it.
