Well, we ride again!
- Walsall win
- Draw
- Fleetwood win
Some big things happening. Colchester was supposed to be a test, and will Fleetwood be stiffer?

Oooooh matron.
Can’t wait for this, keep the momentum up. Theyre not a bad side looking at the table, so won’t be an easy one but one we should be looking to win. UTS
I think it will be a tougher game tbh 4-0 flattered us tbh
I wonder if changes will be made or to stick with a winning team. I would consider resting Lowe he has done nothing wrong but he is a youngster and need to manage his minutes, Can Matt play effectively sat/tue ?? Or do we give Cleary and DJ a start. Or Unc’s of course
In midfield has two goal Earing earnt a start ??
Wouldn’t change Stirk or the back five
Tough but winnable the Gills at home to Grimsby so need to win to stay on their coat tails.
Expecting a rotated side from both teams, for us could be expecting to see DJ start, wouldn’t expect to see Matt start given how tired he looked coming off yesterday. They seem to both score and concede a fair few but expecting us to be the better of the two teams on the night. 2-1 win to keep the perfect home league start going UTS
That game was a ground out 1-0 all the way but Colchester folded like a broken deckchair and we put three more past them. Not sure we were that flattered, after flattening them.
Fleetwood have only lost once so will be tough to breakdown.1-1 is my prediction. Earing to start for Lakin would be my only change.
I dunno on that one. Earing seems to be doing well as a finisher (new name for substitute) and the reduced minutes mean a reduced risk of injury - of which we all know he’s prone - and Lakin far from terrible. I’d be tempted to keep it as it is
If we had everyone fully fit there’s 2 changes I’d make Earing for Lakin and Mcentee for Dave i think that’s our best 11.
Sadler said he will start making more changes for fitness so I expect Lakin and Matt not to start at least for fitness as they are usually early subs
Gone for a loss… seems to be working that i keep putting losses … hoping for a win but these will be tough
They’ve got a player called Graydon up front who we need to keep quiet
Another big game.
No pushover these. Watched them on the telly against Morecambe last week. Good going forward but they give you a chance.
Important we’re all up for it again. Probably our first sub 5k crowd, the lads will be tired and the weather shit.
I’ll go 2-0 to us because we have a very good back six (including Stirk) who seem to kind of suck the attacking will out of the opposition thus enabling a second half on the front foot with some beautiful options from the bench.
Tough game . First goal crucial . 5-0 Saddlers .
I think the lovely thing about this defensive unit is that instead of making defending look like the Alamo, they keep teams (in the main) to an arc around 35 yards away from Simkin.
Colchester tried to say that they were unlucky with a goalmouth scramble, but the closest shot taken was still past the penalty spot. All due to that unit getting in there and snuffing it out.
I think Matt needs resting as he looked a bit leggy yesterday , when he was running hard looked like he was running thru jelly ,very laboured , earring should be a starter ,got to watch we don’t burn Lowe out too he’s giving it his all but he can’t keep that up.
Arr. The biggest compliment I can pay them is that other than through reputation, I still don’t know if Simkin is a good goalkeeper.
By the same stage we knew Rushworth was very special because he had lots of opportunity to showcase his ability.
Went to Stoke vs Fleetwood in the League Cup the other week.
Set up in a 3-5-2. Decent attacking, bit suspect at the back. Their number 4 is error prone but a massive unit too and can get back to cover his mistakes
I don’t think you’re wrong, but nobody does Matt’s job like Matt. We’ve only got four Tuesday games until Christmas (one in the paint pot), so there’s scope for him to bag rests when needed. It’ll need to be managed through subs more than anything.
