I think that Sadler has more than enough brains, from what I’ve seen and heard.
But that’s just an opinion

@DavidWFC I heard a few things about Viveash and Robins the last week or so - found an interesting article on the Mail but it’s littered in adverts and the page keeps moving.

Sounds like him and Robins didn’t always get on. Think Robin took the hump with an interview he did potentially.

Wonder if Viveash will resurface as Lampards assistant at Coventry. He will no doubt have the relationship with Frank from his time at Chelsea.

The Cov chairman on talkSPORT earlier more or less said that Robins wasn’t much good without Viveash.

Troy Deeney says on the Under the Cosh podcast that our sell-on fee prevented him signing for Leicester. He claims his team tried to negotiate with Bonser but Jeff refused to budge.

Comes across pretty full of himself in the interview.

He should point the finger at Watford, not us. A deal is a deal.

And one him and his team were happy to agree to. Maybe he should have thought more about its effect on future transfers when he signed it.

When I heard about this I thought that JB should have come to some arrangement, but then knowing the numbers - they wanted Walsall to have £1m instead of £6m (20% of £30m transfer fee), and this is the ONLY time i will ever say this, I think JB did the right thing.

Deeney did alright staying it sounded like he’d have gone to Leicester anyway, so assume they would have paid the fee, it got a bit confusing at that point, but he ended up on what was it £128k a week?

Yeah I agree. I wonder what JB would have done with the £6mil if we had received it

Not saying JB should have accepted £1M, but could’ve negotiated as 20% of nothing is exactly what we did receive.
But what did we expect, when the old regime knew the cost of everything and the value of nowt.

No surprise there!

We could have paid even more money for Makris.

I remember at the time that Gary Neville stuck his oar in too, saying that Walsall were preventing free movement of a player which wasn’t fair, and that we should’ve taken a much lower amount than the one we were legally entitled to. Absolute codswallop on so many levels.
If Watford had truly believed Deeney was going to be a success they would have paid the full fee upfront and there would have been no sell on at all.
