Fryatt Hotel Watch - 2021 Summer Transfer Rumours

Ye I think we’ve done well to attract the players we have, but for me we’re still very short. I don’t think we will have the funds to sign enough quality perms so loans will be critical.

Well, it’d be a bad spine if Wilkinson plays on the right, no wonder the club advertised a vacancy for a physio

Despite all the talk of unity with the club I think we are in a bit of danger of creating a two teir wage structure. Labadie and Wilkinson etc on a tidy packet the guy from Harrogate etc presumably on peanuts. Pure common sense and speculation. I don’t actually know! before any gets their arse in their hands

Wilko played upfront on his own for Orient in their last 2 games not sure before that but I’ve heard he can play on the right of the 3 behind a striker if needs be so it’s looking more and more likely he’s our main striker unless we sign another one of a similar stature which I’m doubting more and more as the days go on.

Maynard still available 34 but proven still looked good enough on loan at Newport.

There’s still plenty of players available mate it’s just looking more and more likely that Matt and Jamie’s plan was to sort the spine out straight away,I’m certainly not saying they’ve made a bad decision because every good team has a decent spine, but it is looking as if we are going to be filling the remaining places with mainly loaned players and that can only be as a result of spending money on the spine.I’d love us to sign more players of those 3’s qualities but I can’t see it happening hope I’m wrong of course

No way have we got close to our budget yet surely!
With the players we let go who wouldn’t be cheap like Sinclair Clarke Guthrie , money we didn’t spend from jules and ade, Rico money . We should be in a very good place to sign similar quality players to our first 4 unless there on like Salford 4K + money which is never gonna happen.
Maybe their pulling power is running out and there struggling to recruit who they want before resulting in players no one wants, 35 year old journeymen and 18 ur olds from Birmingham
Hopefully we have some good players lined up just waiting to go over the line

Every time you mention Jamie and Matt, @Scooby2167, I scan through it quickly and think we’ve signed Jamille Matt! :joy:

It will be interesting to see what formation Matt Taylor likes. Personally, I think that we will be quite midfield heavy, relying on Osadebe, Holden and Earing to chip in with plenty of assists and a few goals from late runs into the box, a la Lampard.

Virtually impossible to defend against if you can spring the trap. I hope we can sign a left back with a good engine who can overlap too. I’d take Max but in terms of winning mentality, maybe a new player might suit the new management team better.

Sorry mate I’ll just mention Matt from now on .As regards the formation I’d say 4-2-3-1 is a very popular formation this day in age with plenty of goals coming from the 3 behind the main striker so maybe he will go for that and agreed we are very midfield heavy maybe we will loan a few out ourselves if the club doing the loaning pay the players wages for a season to free up funds.I just hope we haven’t had our pants pulled down over the wages of the first 3 we’ve signed, as mentioned above 4K Salford wages isn’t usually common in this league so you’d like to think only half of that a week has gone on each.

It’s funny you should say that, but I’ve heard we’re in talks with Tommy Trilby, Farokh Fez, Pancho Panama, Sunny Sombrero, Mortimer Mortarboard, Hubert Homburg, Felix Fedora, Viv Busby!, Bobby Bowler and Tam 0’Shanter

Any internationals in that bunch? Some capped players would be a boost.

Is Beret-hino available? Always rated him when he was at the Albion. If he’s got his head screwed on, he’d be a good signing but if he is still approaching his game at a slanted angle, he might end up being a raspberry rather than a prince…

Wot, no Bobble Charlton or Woolly Naughton?

I have often wondered what problems this causes on the pitch. In my experience in the work place it can have major consequences.

That Orient fan who came on a few weeks back after he signed said he’s much better out wide so I’d be a bit bemused if he’s played as a CF, would be gambling yet again in one of the cruicial positions the club really needs to get right if it’s to ever challenge serious for promotion.

Still hoping for an experienced CF but judging by MT’s comments I suspect CF will be filled by loan deal and player may be pretty young.
