Grimsby Town (A) - League Two - Sat 19th Oct, 3.00pm

Simkin going down with ‘an eye problem’ allowed us to regroup, clever.

Seems like a decent bloke

He does it every game. It’s obviously a devious tactic :grinning:

Simkin is okay, robbed for the goal today. Referee is getting away with one. It was a disgraceful piece of officiating. I will back Simkin all the way on this.

Just enjoying the delights of Grimsby town centre but back to the game, as the away side I was quite happy with 0-0 half time, second half we were class the pressing was tremendous it’s also got to be said the bench is so strong it’s ridiculous.
Massive credit has to go to the recruitment team.

Loving this team at the minute.

Look forward to each match day because of the football, not despite it for the first time in a while

If your not going was the reason for our win, please don’t bother coming to any others. :joy:

If I’m going to a game I’ll give you a heads up so you can save yourself a journey.

That’s what their fans were saying in the comments underneath the YouTube video.

They had one decent chance which Rose hit straight at Simkin. They had lots of chances to make chances, but didn’t really make them count.

I missed the majority of the first half mate because I was up the hospital visiting my grandad.I only caught the minutes leading up to injury time and we looked very good, but by the sounds of it that was when we played our best stuff of the first period

2nd half was one of the best away performances ive seen

Superb 2nd half performance - well done Sadler re the half time talk. I have no idea why our goal was disallowed there was no foul at all.
Brilliant first goal and well done Barrett. But super play by Matt to chase down a clearance in the corner for a throw which gave us possession for the goal. It really is those little things that matter and make the difference. We were electric in the second half.
I think Simkin was fouled but he should not be doing that anyway - just clear the ball away.
As I have said before - it is great to have a bench where the subs improve what is on the pitch.
Well done to those who travelled.
UP THE SADDLERS

We left the house at 6.45 this morning and have been back home about 20 minutes, a long long day. Well worth the effort though. Great to see my kids singing songs about promotion, surely not a false dawn this time, we must have a great chance.

Most of what I would have said about the game has already been said. I think the second half performance is our best of the season, apart from the blip with Simkin which was a foul we controlled the game.

I am sure a few of our players will be on other clubs in higher leagues radar. Jellis, definitely Barrett, and possibly Taylor Allen.

A mention for the fans, not as many as usual but the away end was class all afternoon again, even if it did take you back to the 1980s.

Well done Mark and your lads, and the rest of our lot that made the journey. Special days.

The first half was frustrating because we seemed a yard too slow and kept giving the ball away so was glad to reach half time on level terms.
Second half, what a transformation, absolutely brilliant performance.
Pity we couldn’t keep a clean sheet but we won and that’s what really counts.
I was looking at DJ when he scored and expected him to be grinning like a Cheshire Cat but he looked subdued to me.
Apart from that you couldn’t ask for much more from the team than they are giving us and long may it continue.
