We got back about half hour ago. I felt poorly for most of the second half so stood at side of the stand (by the outside of the wall), as standing felt easier. A big thank you to the policemen (West Midlands I think) who checked I was okay, offered to get me some water or medical assistance (which I didn’t need) A very officious steward told me that I couldn’t stand there and had to sit down despite me telling him it was uncomfortable to sit down. The brilliant policemen soon spoke to him and told me to stay there which I appreciated. They also took not much notice of the same steward who tried to get two of our fans into trouble with them when celebrating our goals. Good work from them.
Hope you are feeling better now Cats
Sorry to hear you felt unwell especially with such a long journey back but hopefully you will be fully recovered for Tuesday
A very solid and honest synopsis. Fair play to him.
Thank you both. Yes I was fine after the match and the result still made it a good day. I’ll be there Tuesday.
Jellis has impressed me this season, had a look at his background and pretty amazed that he’s slotted into league two football pretty seamlessly. What a find, certainly took the long route to this level.
I wouldn’t say he has been the best player overall but he has been my favourite so far this season.
For all his running, hustling, chasing down, he has some real quality at times. He already has two goal of the season contenders.
I also think he can and probably will improve a lot more yet.
Edit
Also, his relationship down that right hand side with Barrett shouldn’t be underestimated.
TBF, Simkin was badly fouled. This ref was foul, too. We should have won 5 - 0 by all rights. Maybe more if the correct red had been shown. This is a special team - no, a special SQUAD - that MS and his management team have put together. This looked a tricky fixture against a form team that WFC has passed with flying colours. I have not been so optimistic for years.

Without tempting anything, we could lose our next 8 games in a row and we would still have a better points total than the same stage last season. I’d much rather hope for another winning run though. Hopefully continuing on tuesday, will be looking forward to it. See you all there!

We’re bang on two points a game which gets us up no problem.
Very difficult to keep that up through a whole season but we’ve set a really good standard, got a bit of depth in the squad and I haven’t seen anything from anyone else to suggest we’ve loads to worry about though we haven’t played Vale, Notts or Donny yet.
Overall though isn’t it nice to be involved in a promotion race? Usually by now bar the odd born optimist we’re contemplating which side of the fourth tier equator we’ll finish.
Not on Facebook / Meta. What does it say?
Constant support throughout the 90 + minutes.
D id we take about 400 today?
Even further back in time if you went into that strange away bar affair under the corner of the stand. Not saying they aren’t legends, but a mural including Bobby Moore, Alan Ball and Stanley Matthews? Not sure if any of the kids in there recognised a single one.
Cracking fishcakes worth queueing up for.
One thing that held us back last season was our away form.
Just 6 wins all season, conceding over 2 goals a game.
We only took the lead away from home once last season.
3 wins from 6 so far this season, scoring four goals in two of them and in the four games we haven’t suffered defeat away from home this season, we’ve took the lead in all four games.
Impressive.
Yet many good old UTS posters will still be convinced, ‘We’re missing Josh (more bookings than goals) Gordon’.
Just watch the team when Comley strengthens our midfield.

Thank you for posting the goals. I was in the mountains this morning and had dreadful phone service. Was able to listen but unable to view.
Most appreciated.
