Grimsby Town (A) - League Two - Sat 19th Oct, 3.00pm

I believe the break has given the players some much needed rest and some time to heal the injuries and little niggles some of the squad has been carrying.
It’s back at it tomorrow with another tough game. To keep up with the pack we need to take points from this game, we’re certainly good enough and shouldn’t fear any team in this division. That said, I’m going for a victory on Saturday, we need to maintain the momentum we had before the Fleetwood debacle.

I think they’ll be thinking the same about Simkin :joy:

We will win this, though not comfortably. 2-1 to the Super Saddlers!

Well he apparently is:

But does he walk straight in? Even club captain DD hasn’t done that so far, and neither did Earing when he returned - a few games on the bench and ease him back in?

Mcentee is so much better than Dave though that’s the thing . Daniels is not a lot better than Allen so has no right to walk in and earing you can argue isn’t a class above lakin

Had a ticket in advance for last couple of visits, but not this time.
Does anyone know if you can just pay at the turnstile or do you have to buy a ticket from their ticket office first?
Weather forecast good.

But then you are assuming that Daniels only plays at LCB and he clearly doesn’t as he’s played more games for us in the middle or right of the 3 and only filled in there after we lost Monthe and then Hussey.

For what it’s worth, given we have more players to choose from for this game, there will be more competition for a place on the bench so probably no Weir (amongst others). But there is a doubt about (Liam) Gordon being up to the game so soon after playing for Guyana midweek (and then a loooong flight back here), or at least for lasting the full 90, and Evan didn’t cover himself in glory against MK the last time LG was out to be considered as a starter either, so in my opinion one option is that we could see Allen shuffle across and DD stepping in there.

Not clear from the Grimsby website which advises away fans to purchase from the ticket office (on the side of the ground opposite to the away entrance) as pay-at-the-gate is not always available - which implies that sometimes it is, but doesn’t specify about tomorrow.

Cheers.
I’m getting there quite early to have a walk to the seafront to take photos so I’ll walk round the ground first.

I’m on my way now. Taking a sleeping bag so hope to find a bench that is not too exposed to the elements. I’m hoping the Spoons is one of those late night ones so I aint got too long outside.

Travelling down tomorrow, takes about an hour and a half.
This is the first time I have had an opportunity to go this season. (Could have made Chesterfield away and Bromley at home, but sold out, cancelled :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:)

Looking forward to it, thinking of getting there around midday.
Should I bring my swim wear, towel and sun cream and visit Cleethorpes beach?

Me and my boys are going. More in hope than expectation, it’s just a way of life.

Come on you Saddlers.

I would love to see Albert Abdomah starting for this one. Put Smith straight under pressure from the first minute with his quality crosses… I just don’t know who I would leave out across that midfield to fit him in.

Play him as a winger to target smiths weakness?
It wouldn’t hurt sadler to show some tactical acumen and change things around sometime ?

New ground for me tomorrow, very rare that happens now

A nice and steady 3 v 1 victory with Grimsby showing there inconsistent side dominating the first half but only scoring once against the returning Mean Machine , a dominant second half performance will seal the deal and a return to the top three.

Gordon should be rested after his international exertions not sure how you pick the back 5 we have more than enough options though.

Stirk , Lakin and the Jellinator in the middle of the pitch and Jamma and Lowe up front

We’ve got this, after the system freeze against Fleetwood the reboot against Chesterfield, normal operating performance will now be resumed.

The March to 83

Oh right that’s where Smith ended up then, I presume this is emergency loan and Grimsby have a few injuries in that position?

He just needs to keep on playing. Four year deal at Barnsley so you never know what the situation will be there in 12-18 months.

Will be for me too. Odd given that they have been there forever.
