If you look again, you will see that the linesman is 35 yards away, with a possibly obstructed view because there are two defenders and Barratt between him and the incident. The referee was 19 yards way with an unimpeded view. He certainly had a better view than we get from the replay.
Maybe there will be a club produced video which shows that Matt was hard done by, but I don’t think that there is enough in the video we have to prove it either way
