Grimsby Town (H) 12th September, 3.00pm

I thought we were superb today. The tackling, winning and retention of the ball and general effort would have had the ground rocking. Just a bit of lack of quality in the final third, but that’s league two. Enough there in that department for us to be a handful for most though at this level. Very encouraging, now lets get the fans back.

The commentators were from Radio WM (I think for all games it’s the local BBC team that do it - BBC Bristol on Tuesday night).

Picture quality is partly dependent on your Internet/data bandwidth and the device/app you are using, but the camerwork is iFollow. There will only be 1 camera/camera operator at each game, so depends on where it’s located and how good they are at using it. It"s not likely to be the same quality you’re used to for TV games.

I was expecting the picture quality to be poor but I was pleasantly surprised. I got a monthly pass which for some reason was billed in dollars (about 30 a month I think) so pretty decent value for money.

Adebayo did extremely well in a tough role on his own at times. WM presenters couldn’t wait to slag him off which was odd.

I was rather glad he was gifted a tap in as he hustled all game.

Everyone did their jobs today, except Lavery of course. I really liked the way we pressed for 90 mins pretty much.

I think the problem is our forward players aren’t intelligent enough to make runs in behind the defenders, you could see when holden or paddy were on the ball they was looking for someone to make a run but they never did, maybe something to work on at the training ground.

Special mentions too.

Holden - I thought he looked very classy on the ball some great trickery to get out of tight spaces also some great delivers into the box.

Adebayo - the lad worked his socks off defensively and attacking seems to of carried on from where he left off and the winning goal my man of the match.

Norman - superb once again he seems to have got the kick up the backside he needed, looks a new player solid defensively also helped out with some great runs down the wing, immense energy levels.

Scarr - didn’t put a foot wrong very commanding in the box good distribution aswell.

Paddy the Irish wizard - only played 30 mins but he’s exactly what we are lacking in our midfield a ball carrier with skill and a eye for a defense splitting pass the lads got bags of potential.

Moan of the day

Please ban alfie bates from set pieces struggles to beat the first man.

Very happy man with the overall team performance we looked very solid didnt look like conceding apart from when they hit the post. 3 points and a clean sheet cant grumble.

I reckon that we win / draw loads of away games the way DC sets us up and the players we have.

How are people getting ifollow monthly/season video passes? All I can see on the site are individual video passes, and audio packages.

Was thinking the same . Could pick up a lot of points in away games. Which in turn is a good thing as it takes a bit of pressure off when we are at home.

Adebayo worked hard today and played well.

Still think there’s more to come from him though. Just wish he had a bit of nasty bastard in him, he’d be class at this level.

If we can defend as a team the way we have today and against Sheffield Wednesday we will have a decent season, just need more luck/skill/composer in the box.

If he keeps getting kicked and pushed etc by centre halves all season,he will be a nasty bastard by the end of the season

Great to see us in action again. Feel we controlled the game well but still spent long periods getting overwhelmed in midfield.

Would like to see us strengthen with a strong centre-mid - the trio of Holden, Bates and Kinsella are lightweight and inexperienced to get us through the season IMO.

Same. I have an annual audio pass and looked for a monthly video pass whilst it’s available but ended up buying the £10 game pass.

Just thinking, is there a formation we can play with both Holden and Osadebe in the team? If they are the 2 creators in a middle 3, who is the best anchorman to play behind them - Kinsella, Bates, Sinclair, Guthrie, A. N. Other?

Really good performance for an opening day. Some good play at times mixed in with some real solidity throughout the team. It’s really good to see that even the likes of McDonald and Holden will our there door in when required, proof that everyone has really bought into DC’s philosophy

Another noteworthy point is that we now have options on the bench, both in terms of numbers and quality

WFHYS is back slagging Adebayo off on there and allowed an illegal stream of the game to be put on the page:joy::joy:

I think the season video passes are only available for people outside the UK, not sure about the monthly one but guess it must be the same if you don’t see it there.

Just wish he would position the camera a little further forward so you could see all the pitch , if there was a corner , especially bottom right corner you couldn’t see who was taking it .

Osadebe looked class on the utube clips I watched when we first signed him and looked good today when he came on .

Holden is so much better now than when we first had him on loan , and really pleased we signed him on a permanent .

I know he’s only played 25 minutes or so, but Osadebe reminds me so much of Sawyers.

As soon as he gets on the ball it looks like he’s going to do something, carries the ball brilliantly and has an eye for a pass. The cross he put in for Gordon was perfection.

If we can some how accommodate him AND Holden in the same team, then that’ll be very exciting.

Could have easily scored five or six today, but as long as we win and get a clean sheet also, then I’m more than happy.
