These players will improve and are desperate for our support. If we can put our disappointment alongside theirs rather than making it about them and letting us down they could thrive.
People will say its professional sport and winners are not nice people, well we cant afford out of the box winners so we will develop the players cast off higher up and bring them along with us!
Fully agree with that despite all the disappointment with the result yesterday .the one big plus was we gave a professional debut to a 20 year old .that weāve signed from a non league club in our vicinity that we usually in the past we miss out on .a player who by all accounts a lot of people in the game rate as having a bright future .and Sadler had enough confidence to play him at short notice after a late injury.that to me is a promising sign for the future.and we as fans should applaud them both credit Sadler for playing him and Harry on a pretty decent debut by all accounts .
I feel like Harryās performance on his debut was one of the positives to take away from the Morecambe game. Many will scrutinise him for a bit of a shaky start with a couple of misplaced passes early on and hold him partially responsible, alongside Riley, for Morecambeās first goal.
However, as the game progressed, he grew into the game more and more and looked relatively comfortable in the second half. He played the ball forward confidently in possession and displayed a lot of command in his aerial duels and when defending corners. He reminded me at times, in glimpses, of Paul Downing.
I think it is important to view his performance holistically, recognising that this was his full debut in league football, playing many leagueās above the level that he has ever played at, in very challenging conditions. Lets hope he can take confidence from Saturday and is given more opportunities to continue developing throughout the season as he has the promise and potential to become a very good player at this level.
There were some complaints about him simply because the goal came down his side, but I thought he looked a good prospect.
Should never be starting the first game of the season though, particularly if just to accommodate one of our other centre halfās bafflingly playing centre mid. But thatās not on him.
Dont know if the budget will stretch to another bag of scratchings a month if he signs a new contract.
I was told by my second cousinās girlfriendās mate, who was told by her next door neighbour who has a contact at the club that the budget had been cut by 99.9% this season and the squad are all using food banks this season and this is a real genuine rumour not picked up my the dog and mole. Cant trust animals to tell the truth.
I wouldnāt hesitate he has all the attributes of a good centre half thereās a mistake in him yes .but played correctly with good player around him .heāll be very good for us .fitness would be the only issue .but hopefully that was one injury and the step up in fitness at this level .its a no brainer and just the sort of player Trivela seem to be investing in .
Defo think Williams is worth a 2 year contract , he had done enough and you would think he will only get better . I donāt see him playing beyond league one but he has all the attributes for a successful league 1/2 centre half for a number of years .
He just loves to defend doesnāt he ! Very old fashioned in a lot of ways
