Harry Williams Signs

Y just a year if he very good???

Got option for another year

If he’s crap - only 1 year and a comparatively low wage.

If he’s decent - activate the 1-year option.

If he’s very good - get him tied down on a longer term contract before his current one expires to either keep him here or put up his asking price.

Didn’t know that thanks :+1:

Didn’t the lad star with Kirsty McColl in fairytale in New York
In all fairness a localish young hungry footballer on a low wage with year contract, sensible.

Another signing that arrives with nothing but good words from the previous club’s fan’s and potential to develop into a quality player. Welcome Harry.

Both Sadler and Byfield know the area so I wonder if that makes a difference.

Mat even alluded to that in the comments about Harry signing. Something many have wanted for years to happen is now happening, can only be a good thing.

I’m totally in agreement with those who said we should be looking at prospects from non league clubs.
It seems that’s what MS wants as does Trivela. I’m very glad the club is moving in that direction, I’d rather take a chance on a promising young player from non league football than an ageing journeyman who’s looking for a final pay day.
Welcome to the club Harry, make us proud son.

Wonder if he has a sell on percentage?
If he does let’s never sell him so another team can feel how it feels!!! Mwhahaha

Amusing there’s no mention of the ‘data driven recruitment blah blah blah’ narrative on this particular thread.

Welcome Harry, hope your time with the Saddlers is a fruitful one.

He’s been at the Albion from what I read.

Alvechurch did well in the FA CUP. Assume he played in this.

Alvechurch have recruited a fair few who’ve gone in to the Football League in recent seasons.

Byfield used to manage Alvechurch so any checks on what he’s like would have been done

Contract is sensible.

Yeah, I’ve spoke to a couple of Albion who reckon he was highly rated with them.

As others have said, there’s a whole pool of local non-league talent and it’s criminal how we’ve missed out on so much of it. Hopefully that will change now. :+1:

Well considering the manager literally said he came to us on trial because of our links to non-league, I’d have thought that would be a non starter conversation? Unless we’ve got tons of in depth data on Avlechurch.

Still, it is possible to be both positive about signings and also question some of the guff that has come out of the club.

Thought he was really strong in the air in the first half. Would look good in a CB pair in a back 4. I miss the days we could play with a back 4.

In all the criticism on here about yesterday people seem to forget as well as Williams Stirk was making his debut and that we had a very young and inexperienced midfield. We must hope they improve and with support not just from the coaching staff but from us they just might.
I say that because I doubt we are going to get the midfield general we need so let’s get behind these lads and help them improve.
