I enjoyed watching that. Penalty aside, Lowe looks some player. We showed great resilience to come back from 2 down so well done the lads.

Can I pour a tiny smidgen of balance into the discussion…

Obviously, fantastic, confidence boosting result after Saturday…. However this was against a team down to ten men… and whom had made 6 changes, with academy kids playing right?

Of course, you can only beat what’s in front of you - and we did that. We deserve a fantastic third round tie to swell the coffers and inject some excitement into the place.

I personally think Saturday is more important, and will be much more of a test than tonight.

Big game, and hope we turn up!

Because we were one on one and Earing has outsmarted a defender who wasn’t one of those academy products.

I don’t think beating a side down to ten men takes any gloss off at all, usually you’ve outsmarted somebody, or been cheated if that happens.

As for it bringing balance I don’t think a single person thinks Saturday is less important than tonight :man_shrugging:

Great result, especially after going 0-2 down.
The penalty miss by Lowe didn’t seem to dishearten the lad, in fact, it just made him more determined to score. Well done son.
A big draw in the next round please.

Best performance of the season so far, everyone played well, first to everything. Lakin impressed me too for the first time this season.

Definitely enjoy this win, but you’re right, we do need to keep some balance.

We’re much more likely to come up against Tranmeres who are incredibly hard to break down, than much changed L1 teams, who prefer to play a bit so we have space, and then go down to 10 men.

Great result ,I loved the way we mixed it up in the second half , we was attacking wide , thru the middle the odd hoof ball and Huddersfield didn’t know what was coming next ,great spirit ,Lowe looks like he’s going to be a handful

Not playing bad but out kipper is very doggy should have saved the goal really slow goig down he had time and the view really poor.

No we don’t. Why worry about the next game. That was something special. I’m chuffed to bits and texting friends and relatives I hardly ever speak to ( and who couldn’t care less about Walsall) :grin:I’m loving the moment

New format for the round 3 draw apparently.

The top 7 prem teams, entering are in pot 1 with the rest of us in Pot 2.

The 7 prem teams will have a pre determined draw.

The first 7 balls from Pot 2 will get the money ties.

Never felt once we drew level that we were not going to go on and win that. Huddersfield did not have a kick in the last 30 minutes. We were all over them

I can’t remember the last time that I was genuinely excited about a Walsall teams prospects. But this team has a lot of qualities we havent seen in years

Brilliant night down the Bescot. Really enjoyable game that we dominated pretty much from start to finish. That’s what football is all about.

@Thanatos, can’t agree with your assessment. We also made lots of changes and had our second choice back three, midfielders and ‘keeper.

It appears we have the makings of a proper squad, which is much different from anything we’ve had since being down in League Two.

Villa away please.

The team that started didn’t feature any academy players, all first teamers
