Once Lowe settled down after a frustrating first half he was class. His game vastly improved when he started playing a little cleverer running into space dragging there defenders , really really impressive stuff
For his proper debut you can’t really ask for much more
Newcastle get drawn away to a Premier League team, then once that’s sorted, feck knows.
Teams in Europe are also seeded, so cant play each other, so gives us a better chance of getting a BIG team.
West Ham at home please or Everton away. Both for purely selfish reasons
This Walsall team may not be filled with quality players but what they lack in quality they make up for it in effort desire and character. Matt Sadler has created something special money can’t buy a togetherness and never say die attitude.
What a night throughly enjoying watching this Walsall team. UTS
Next round
Away vs Villa or United please.
Some great comments on the Huddersfield forum…
‘Bossed by a league 2 team of kids and an ancient Adomah’ and…
‘Thankfully Walsall had only 3 players who started in the league two game last Saturday from the off…I thought they were going to go with a strong line up against us.’
Lowe’s got many admirers on there too. Quite a few saying he’s better than what they have and they should sign him, until someone pointed out he’s on loan.
If only they had our scouting system
Still wanting us to lose to protect your ego.
Poor.
UTS
Five of our starting 11 haven’t yet made 20 league appearances.
Maher, Williams and Lowe have hit double figures, but a lot of their appearances have been as substitute.
Weir and Barrett are the other two, both still in single figures.
A night reminiscent of the good old days at Fellows Park - midweek matches under the lights, beating teams from higher up, attacking the Street End in the second half, great atmosphere…
Cup nights matter.
Another great night, loved it.
Nathan Lowe (goals)
A brilliant night, well played you Saddlers.
Huddersfield were looking to win 5 on the bounce. They’re not your standard league one team. They will be up there come May next year.
Even before the sending off I thought we looked the better side. We’re so tenacious and hard working and they struggled to match our work rate. Crucially we have some really gifted players in Uncle Albert, Lowe and Liam Gordon who were the 3 stand outs for me today. They provided our cutting edge and its players like that that will see us promoted.
Proud that the 3 best players on the pitch were all wearing red today and proud of our overall desire and work ethic. Wolves at home next round please and bring on Michael Flynns Cheltenham next Saturday. UTS!
Had a good laugh reading the huddersfield fans forum. They really dont like hogg. Think lowes class. Thought the ref cheated
And Johnson!!
Their forum is hilarious, played 3 won 3 in the league and their going mental
And people think this forum is bad!
Yes! Your comparison is spot on!
I absolutely loved that and all of the signs that we’re building something special are suddenly right before our eyes.
Sadler has built a tight unit and the squad building has been very good in the end.
I do mentally have the handbrake on slightly as its the hope that kills you and the last few years finally killed the hopeless optimist that I had in me towards the club, but as a few have said, that has nothing to do with this side.
I think we’ve got a team capable of being right up there and I’m honestly terrified of believing that we could have a great season, but I do think we could.
