Does it? We play with 5-2-1-2 as it is? Hutchinson was a hard worker but he wasn’t brilliant defensively. And with two wingers guess what? We might not need a striker to do headless chicken running if they are helping with our press! I’m not entirely sure how it isn’t conductive to possession football, any more than our current formation is. Wolves seemed to use it pretty well to keep possession in their Championship year. Weren’t we pretty low in the possession stats for the division anyways last season?
The answer, as always, is no formation works just because of a the formation so you would need to recruit accordingly. But splitting Hutchinson and a striker who doesn’t score or creates tally between two wingers, with hopefully more created for your sole striker too could just work.
Sadler won’t play a 5-2-3 formation, I’ll tell you that now.
That doesn’t answer my point.
I don’t need to answer your point!!
What the hell are Trivela up to. Our best player gone, no signs of players coming in and rumors of substantial budget cuts!!!

Well no, but you did respond directly to something I’d said
yeah - i dont get rigidity in managers systems. We’re shit and have been shit for a long ol time. Why would we try to impress a style/ philiosophy? isnt it about creating a squad a changing the system based on who your playing to get the win?
Hutch who ??? Already yesterday’s news, he’s gone, I personally couldn’t give a toss about his future career.

With all this talk about replacing hutch and bringing in forward players for goals .of which I’m in full agreement ,we seem to forget how our defence performed for last 10 games of the season and to be honest wasn’t that impressive for the rest .we need to be a whole lot better next season .we can’t expect to keep scoring 2/3 goals a game to get something from games all the time .

Crawley would be a step up that’s how much we’ve fallen. Yet we need a 10 year work in progress to achieve what Crawley managed in 12 months

Absolutely spot on! Our goals conceded record is abysmal. No-one gets promotion with a record like we had last season. There are always games in this league when a 1-0 is all your going to get and we need to be on the right side of that when it happens if we are to achieve anything.

Inevitable move up for Hutchinson. I think it demonstrates how hard it is going to be to build a promotion team incrementally. We need to build a team possibly over as little as two windows to be serious, unless we just want to get lucky…

I haven’t seen anything about budget cuts…

Sad to see him go, a class act who was often under-appreciated by a section of our audience. He will be sadly missed.
The cash injection into the club will be welcome though and it will be fascinating to see how things play out over this summer, with the other players who have left and/or haven’t re-signed on their new terms its more of a major rebuild than I had anticipated or wanted. If Trivela have truly as they promised invested in the footballing infrastructure behind Sadler now is the time for that to be shown with some decisive well thought out signings to give us a shot at the top 7.

I reckon Isaac knows what our chances of a shot at top 7 look like, hence why he has bolted!
This is not a short-term/ knee jerk outcome.
Without being melodramatic I’d think that this would be the season for Trivela to put up or shut up about ambition and long-term plans.

Loads of stuff on social media about the budget being slashed. Best player gone for a pittance, little signs of any transfer activity. This isn’t looking great at the moment.

Youll find out on Thursday at the fans forum.
Heck of a lot of goal involvements to replace now he’s gone.I really hope we sign a player with a good history of goal involvements over their careers, otherwise if we are hoping from “goals from all over the pitch” we could be in trouble.
