  • Pre Match DJ on the pitch
  • Safe Standing
  • Unallocated Seating
  • The club to create new songs/cries for us
  • Singing Section
  • A Saddlers Orchestra
  • Walsall FC Choir
  • Celebrities/former players to encourage us to sing more
  • Squad players not in the starting 11 to encourage the fans pre-match
  • Clackers/vuvuzela’s handed out

I look at some of the bundesliga games and I can’t help feel envious at the atmosphere at those games. They seem to wave massive flags and you haven’t captured that on your list @KingCrod

I’ve got an idea, how about if we get a team that is entertaining and winning games in style.

The answer is simple. Work out what worsens the atmosphere, and do the opposite of that.

Alcohol is the key. I’m not even joking.

chicken & egg: stop being crap at home and play some attacking football

When we have a a good team and play well there is no problem with the atmosphere. That would be my priority.

I was stuck behind a flag at a Bundesliga match a few years ago—it was awful. I don’t see the appeal. UK atmospheres are better because they react to the game, rather than constant singing from people who barely seem to be watching.

Fair point. Perhaps any flags could be constrained to before kick off and half time

I can get behind this chicken & egg idea. Sounds delicious!

Tear down the monstrosity behind the goal, turn it into a 1 tier stand with a low roof. The noise doesn’t travel at all. Then you have singers from upper and lower all together. Will never happen now due to the hospitality suite in the middle. Maybe they could adapt it so it has 1 tier I don’t know

Pretty sure we have this post every season , and the overriding opinion is to win more games.

Oh and play a more entertaining style.

Yes, there was a better atmosphere before the two tiered stand was built. Although, never as good as FP, IMO. I can’t explain that scientifically. Construction of the stands maybe? I can’t see the two tiered stand being pulled down but if the sides were filled in it might make some difference as well as keeping out the rain.

  1. Better football
  2. Lower ticket prices
  3. More initiatives to get fans into the stadium
  4. Another screen. More stuff on the big screen

Where is the option for “none of the above?”

When it’s a big game the atmosphere will be there and no encouragement is needed. When it’s Salford or Fleetwood at Home and we’re 16th in the division, encouragement won’t help.

Better football, attacking football, bit of ambition, some hope, those types of thing.

Turn the away end into a home standing section where people could sing

We’ve already got a banner! :joy:

Actually you do touch on something that I think would improve the atmosphere and it might sound contrarian, but my idea is to attract more away fans.

Building a better away stand would help with this.

Spot on. I was about to post the same thing. Put team on the pitch with talent, flair and attacking intent that gets us challenging at the top of the table and the atmosphere takes care of itself.

I’ve found the atmospheres at 1.FC Köln and Schalke to be fantastic irrespective of the results. Frankfurt though, despite the ground was a bit meh!

Maybe its to do with the local sausages.
