Problem is that you are probably right!! Regrettably, low tempo non attacking football as a result
If DJ doesn’t start on Saturday, we all know that there is a deep seated problem between him and Sadler.
Can we stop the season now please? At least that would mean finishing higher than the last two seasons, still with a negative goal difference of course…it’s the law.
Or……it’s been another week where DJ has looked off the pace at training, possibly distracted, maybe just not quite where he or Sadler would like him to be to deserve a place in the side.
Or do you think Sadler should pick fan favourites or players based on reputation?
Distracted. Not distracted. Good, bad, indifferent week in training. Dosnt matter. You don’t keep benching arguably your best player and probably one of the best finishers in the league. You start to lose complete credibility particulary when your bringing on say the hapless, hopeless Douglas James Taylor. On your other point I’d certainly prefer if we didn’t have such a novice in charge. Particulary one associated with 3 years of failure
I don’t think he’s even close to being that.
Maybe he is…but not on current form he’s not. Last time he started a game his touch let him down on two occasions for clear cut chances and we end up 1-0 down and chasing.
Yes you do…when you start selecting players on past form or reputations.
No one’s ever lost credibility for being seen to pick on merit regardless of age or reputation.
I’ll ignore your last point on account of boredom and not rising to stale bait.
Perhaps, also perhaps has Sadler ever actually watched his favourite non performing pet forwards Matt & DJT in matches? Or do they just do sooo well in training?
For years and years we have waited for an actual striker in our ranks, now we have one, yet he sits in frustration getting splinters in his ass.
I realise you know best, and you know Sadlers every thought, so perhaps you are right.
I just bet that if the likes of Tranmere, struggling to score, had him on their books he wouldn’t be on their subs bench!
We await the team sheet on Saturday in eager anticipation of another disappointing choice.
Really any need for that?
I’ve qualified every discussion on this topic with “maybe” or “possibly” in it. But I’ve chosen the more obvious basic reasoning other than the nonsense conspiracy theories bandied about yet I’m the one you want to snipe at?
Very odd.
We aren’t struggling to score. Saturday was the first time this season we’ve not scored at least 1 and that was as largely down to playing with 10 men as it was not having a good forward…especially seeing as DJ played half hour and barely touched the ball.
Maybe he’s as frustrated with himself as anyone else?
And if that’s the case then if we win you’ll forget all about it and if we lose you can blame it on DJ not starting….
What’s stale bait?. It’s a fact. Sadler is a novice / rookie coach and he is part of 3 years of complete failure
I really wish I hadn’t said I wouldn’t reply to Gens cus he felt bullied
In fact I’ve changed my mind. I won’t reply till October
Wow! being told off by CS is like being admonished by an imperious headmaster!
I promise that if we do win on Saturday without DJ in the side I will write 100 lines…
“I must admit that I am ‘a really naughty boy’ and must always accept what I am told by my betters”
Not really told off mate, but the condescending tone of your post was a bit childish really.
Could’ve really put up much of an argument to anything else I’d written so resorted to sarcasm instead
Good that you’ve accepted where you stand though and do t worry DJ will start so all your worries and anxieties will fade away
Oh thank you kind sir, hands dutifully wrung and cap doffed…
Dj needs to start. The majority of Walsall fans I speak to have no confidence that Sadler has a clue what he’s doing. His odd formations, square pegs in round holes approach to the game is leaving many people baffled. Leaving our main goal threat sidelined is not going to help his cause.
Based on his form a year ago I agree. Based on his form this season I don’t agree.
Maybe so. But I believe the fans you speak to aren’t the majority of Walsall fans so the opinion of your group of pals doesn’t necessarily reflect all Walsall fans.
Nothing odd about a single one of the formations used so far. Nothing at all. They’ve all been very standard.
Square pegs? Who?
Knowles? Flynn played him there also.
McEntee? He’s scored 3 and assisted 3 so it’s looking more like a master stroke than it is a sq peg in a round hole.
Taylor Allen? He’s played everywhere so is no more a LWB than a LCB or a LB than he is a LM. He was excellent there v Colchester, better at LB v Salford, largely due to help from Hutch to cope with their winger and ok there v Swindon. Not really a sq peg.
It won’t matter if we win and two of our three wins have come without him.
No problem.
I think it would be a great laugh if we had a UTS block at the ground…
How do you find the time to manage Walsall and post on here
Managing Walsall is easy……I just pop into UTS for a few insights and do as I’m told
Seems as if UTS’s demonic Headmaster is marking down your homework too!
We will have to stop being realistic and stating the bleedin obvious, and relax into the ‘rose tinted’ ‘all is well world’ that some would have us live in.
On to todays tombola team choice, that will of course have Matt starting up front again (with DJ on the bench) hoping that one day he can pretend to be a footballer, to convince us all that he IS the No1 striker.
It seems this is a historic boundary clash between Pelsall & Brownhills or somat, got stuck in the middle of one of these ‘disputes’ at Salford last season, rather nasty.
God, the very thought of a UTS block! Ambulances would have to be on standby. There have been some strenuous ‘arguments’ on occasions, though it’s only supposed to be friendly, light hearted debates, there are some who take hatred of opposing views a little too seriously!
