Draper had already been a full time footballer and had made his pro debut. He’d also been a regular starter and goalscorer in LOI which isn’t a leap at all from League 2 level.
Also, like it or not, Draper got his opportunity largely due to DJs disrupted pre season which left him short of fitness, Matt’s ineffectiveness and injuries, DJT also got injured in pre season.
He got his chance due to circumstances / injuries and took it (fair play to him) but that’s all people are saying would need to happen for Jellis.
The debate on whether Kinsella was a midfield general or the anti Christ rubbles on. DJ is injured which may have been arranged on purpose by Sadz in order to wind up some posters on UTS. We’ve signed a well thought of non league talent from Tamworth who may or may not be suited to GEGENPRESS. And vegans are trying to destroy football in order to save the grass on football pitches.
And Jellis could get that same chance also due to circumstances or just prove in training he’s better than the competition and prove the doubters wrong who think he’s way off selecting
At the end of the day I think we can all agree on the fact we hope he is a great success and the lad can knuckle down get in the starting line up and be a big influence. But all the talk whether he can step up/ whether he can’t, forget the amount he assists/scores because that isn’t his game but let’s take Kamil Conteh for example who I would say is the PERFECT example who only today signed for Bristol rovers from Grimsby for a reported 300 k which was his release clause! When only 6 months ago they paid roughly 50k - 100k max for him
2021-22 National league north for Braintree 10 games 1 goal
2022-23 National league Gateshead 33 games 2 goals
2023- Present league 2 Grimsby 25 games 0 goals
The point in all this is he hasn’t really scored goals anywhere to say he is a midfielder but brings much much more than that. So let’s back the lad and hope he can really improve us
