Joss Labadie Signing

Same with every interview the club do “How delighted are you to sign a new contract “ he usually then answers for them with something along the lines of “You must be really delighted”:roll_eyes:

Make sure your not in public if this event occurs

Nothing is impossible.

I’m not one that harks about previous players but if Oztumer came back my balls would explode.

Eaisly the most exciting player we’ve had for ten or so years

If anyone can persuade the Turkish wizard to come back it’s Matt.
I would’ve him back only if could recapture the form when he left us, we would be an extremely dangerous team with him at his best.

Just had a first read of Labadies interview and whatever Matt is saying to these players in terms of philosophy and how he sees the future is working a treat because that’s both new signings now who have been massively impressed with a manager who’s just about to start his first real management position.

Hasn’t he gone to Frickley Athletic?

Given the profile of signings so far, I’d be very surprised if Oztumer is even on their radar. We’re looking like a big team who aren’t going to be bullied. A tactic that can quite often get you out of this division.

Same. He did things that very few players who’ve ever played for Walsall are capable of.

Impressive signings so far, are we actually competing in the transfer market for once?

Lovely to see.

But we did have this before with Clarke and Sinclair. As we expected them to higher level players. so i will reserve judgement just yet.

I simply don’t believe there’s room for him in the squad now. I think it was going to a be a battling midfielder with experience or another attacking mid like Holden. We’ve gone for the former I reckon. Be great to see him back though.

We have Holden, not sure we need Oztumer.

See you say that. I don’t think there was the same hype tbf about those two. Seemed very solid pros that have played at a higher level at the time. We were grateful and expectant, granted but This feels much better in terms of what both players have brought to this league last season and positively more exciting.

I mean even before Covid I always appreciated away games for what they were. What may seem like a crappy away trip where we took 250 and were 2 down after 10 minutes, I would usually still be able to take something positive from the day. Usually bumping into someone I haven’t seen for a while or one of my Dad’s old muckas. I am certain you will get that and are much the same.

There was something special about that season though. Wherever we turned up every bar and pub was absolutely rammed with Walsall fans. The minibus I was going on at the time, if you missed a game you were in danger of not getting on it for the next match. The Hereford away game still springs to mind, watching them trying to accommodate the sheer volume of Walsall fans that rolled up after 3 pm trying to get in. I put a lot of names to faces that season through UTS and made a lot of good friends, it will always be a special season for many reasons.

I really want a season like that so that the kids can experience it. They still talk about Dobson’s late goal v Northampton, dancing in the puddles and hugging random people, I really want them to have a taste of real success, one of those that they will still be talking about in 30 years time.

I love how you describe football.

You’ve got it right.

Love that. Bang on. That season felt the same to me. Didn’t miss a game and I was thirteen I think.
