L 2-0 vs Forest Green Rovers (A) - League Two - Sat 9th March, 3pm

Yep cos then we can judge their merits on one set of 90 mins :+1:

I must have missed the period in the season where we were in the top 7 with DD at the back

I don’t recall anyone really disagreeing with you other than Gensanx. Just more of a discussion involving a lot of hypotheticals and some good points raised by everyone. :+1:

Will leave it there before you derail another match thread though.

There were plenty saying you cannot change a winning team.

But yeah let’s leave it there because it had nothing to do with the match thread until Cowshedd made it be.

Hasn’t taken long after a defeat for the “i’m right”, “NO!, i’m right” ping pong to begin

Sane, balanced and intelligent. Not our day today, hopefully we can put it right on Tuesday. MS is doing a great job. UTS.

Yes i agree a very accurate summing of the game from him.

I would play Allen over Daniels all day long. Daniels might be a better centre back but he’s awful on the ball. Allen gives us more control instead of just hoofing it to opposition every time the ball at his feet.

Oh let’s not go there…again :rofl: it was done to death.

DD pass completion on long passes is the highest in the squad btw and is he plays the second highest successful long passes in the division.

I could have wrote your post for your yesterday you could not wait to have a go at a back three that’s done absolutely amazingly for us to get us we’re we are ( Really highlighted the back 3s naivety and inexperience…) single them out very petty just to justify your own opinion.amazing .

Yep.

I was against Sadler getting the job, and have at times questioned fans who said we had made progress. At the time of saying it, that was what I believed.

I’m going to be honest, result aside, I’d watch the football we played today any day of the week compared to what we were watching post January last season.

I’m as gutted as the next Walsall fan about the result today but it was just one of those days. Looking forward to Tuesday.

We played well and I’m too down hearted.

The luck evens out. Mansfield missed sitters at our place for example.

Think we all know Josh Gordon’s finishing is not great before we re signed him. To be fair I thought his work rate was outstanding.

Never an FGR pen as Jacko got the ball first but the real reason we lost today was our poor finishing.

I really liked the ground and hope FGR stay up. A decent away day and great atmosphere from us who sang for 90 minutes.

They’ll be some ups and downs over the next 10 games and I still think we have a great shot at the play offs this season

UTS.

Just taken a look at the ‘highlights’. Can someone tell me why FGR got a penalty? That was one of the worst decisions I’ve seen in ages. More evidence of just how crap our referees have become.

thats a shocker of a decision but then again our penalty looked a bit soft to me as well. It was certainly a penalty “won” anyway lol

Wow I derailed it mr right

Gillingham at Wimbledon on Tuesday, that ends in a draw and we beat Barrow and we’re back in the top 7.

It’s all good :grinning:

Just got back. After going to watch the home game with Doncaster with his Grandad, my lad pestered me to go today. Not difficult to turn a 13 year old back onto football by putting on a good performance and some goals.

Having not been much this season and with the boy having been away for a couple of nights on a school residential, I thought why not as we can bond and catch up on an away day.

Great visit to Stroud Brewer fantastic venue, good beer, great food and really welcoming staff.

The match, well at least the rain held off! All in all was it a bad performance, no, I just think they are a team scrapping for their football league lives, playing a certain way and we got dragged down to their level.

It never felt like they were a huge threat and the defence were generally in control without too much pressure. Thought Foulkes did well when he came on, and I liked the look of Adegboyega as it was the first time I’d seen him. The defence were helped by Comley who had a tidy game.

Thought we struggled in Midfield in an attacking sense, Earring had a few drives but created little and Hutchinson’s performance can be summed up in his penalty miss and shocking follow up. Time after time we pinged crosses into the box that were lapped by Innis and Keogh, we needed something different.

Up front, Matt huffed and puffed before being replaced by Faal, who looks like he has something in him. Finally, it felt like I had gone back in time watching Josh Gordon miss chance after chance. Never a striker in a million years, I hope we aren’t looking to sign him in the Summer.

Ref wasn’t great, don’t think it was a penalty, but we gave him a decision to make so not surprised he gave it.

In the context of recent form it’s a blip, in isolation it’s another game against poor performing teams in the league that we can’t seem to capitalise on, that has to change. These teams are at the bottom for a reason, other teams beat them, regularly.

All in all, good day bonding with the boy, beer, food, a typical Walsall performance and we stayed dry. Oh and I’ve got five cans of Stroud Brewery beer to nurse me through the evening :beer:

Nope.

I made a perfectly objective, constructive and balanced contribution to the post match thread which highlighted several points.

You just don’t like the one that had just as much relevance to the match as any other part of it because you didn’t like that it backed up a previous point of mine.

Just take my post match comments for what they are….my observations on the match I just watched.

I do realize how annoying it must be though when a poster you don’t like is shown to have been pretty on the ball :+1::rofl::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

“Wow I re-directed it to Mr right”

Just corrected that for you. :+1:
