And still show better movement than some of our players.
I still think there are some good players in the squad (although defence is nowhere near as solid as Iād hope it would be considering the experienced signed).
Ultimately though lack of quality in final third is impacting the rest of side I think, dosenāt help that Holden wonāt be seen much either for next few weeks as saw last season what a big difference he makes when out there.
On the positive side, the lads looked great in training last Thursday apparently.
We were really poor in the second half, it seems we can only play for 45 minutes.
Iām not making any excuse for the way we played, but the referee was simply awful, the penalty decision was shocking, Taylor had his back to goal and the ball hit his arm, not arm hitting the ball. After that it was clear we werenāt going to get anything from him.
I know weāre a new team and some of the decisions were poor, Iām sure itās driving MT crazy, but decisions have to improve because itās our undoing as a team.
After 4 games, Iām not a fan of playing out from the back, as the commentator said,āit makes me nervous.ā The execution is too slow and weāre not a quick enough side for it to work properly.
MT has to make some changes quickly to turn this around. Iām not just talking about personnel either.
Iāve said this in a previous post. Iām saying it again because I am right. Last seasons squad was very much-maligned. We should have just got rid of Lavery and Gordan and concentrated getting two proven goal scorers.
We could defend and create chances. We just couldnāt put them away.
Because we were playing against us
Perhaps this season is our pre-interview for the National League.
I predict a back off video from Pomlett soon
Well Ward is a good player given his CV. Whether this is a season too far or heās being played in wrong position is open to debate but loads of sides sign old players and they inspire them, see Hoolahan at Cambridge last season.
Monthe, Labadie and Taylor all key players in promotion winning teams at this level in recent past so to me theyāre proven enough but itās not gelling on the pitch just yet.
I agree though at the moment it does feel like one more defender than needed was signed and certainly at least one attacker short so gamble of trying to get some clean sheets early on hasnāt worked.
In classic Walsall fashion any potential buzz raised by the return of proper footie has been swiftly squashed. Itās just like when we started the Pomlett era with some awful results and performances that instantly killed the buzz that Bonser was gone.
I live a long way from Walsall now and without the experience of going to the games Iām really struggling to keep up my interest. I still follow the results but have to force myself to watch the highlights now.
Most of you know I normally stay positive but the worrying thing is we are looking to bring in forwards. But defensively we are a mess. Massive week next think we need atleast 3 new signings of real quality or we are in for a tough season. Over to you Fullarton & Pomlett.
I hope the club have the bottle to be positive and go and get 4 players in over the next 10 days.
Over to you Leigh and Jamie.
Matchstick work
100% lose the next match itās a season of us vs them again and while their at it losing every week they can shove that Black kneeās matter up their arse ,
If i was Taylor Iād be calling the striker issue out, no way would I let these clowns use me as a scapegoat.
He should put his Boots back on
Caller on WM telling us not to panic, the way heās talking I think heās watched a different match and like last week has tipped us for promotion
Fullerton never lasts in a job either heās usually found out after 6 months I donāt care how relentless he is heās not done a good job here at all yet.
Gotta be someone mocking us
Iāve got a couple of decent bets on that he can buy off me if he likes.
