Point is, you can’t blame the team, but you can criticise the ref/ assistants for letting them get away with it
Maybe, but teams only do it because they know they can. If refs enforced the Laws of the game they couldn’t do it and it would be a better game to watch. Refs need to be a lot stricter. Once they have made it clear that time wasting and other nonsense won’t be tolerated, players will stop. Even the thick ones will eventually realise they need to behave.
You did, I missed it on the first read.
As for the match, I hate us losing at the best of times but we’re so used to it being Walsall fans.
We showed Flynn our true colours yesterday. There were probably 3 or 4 players he may have retained, prior to that performance, who are now on the release list.
This guy isn’t going to put up with any nonsense, if players continue to perform like they don’t want to be here, the door will be shown very quickly.
I really hope MF has total autonomy with the summer signings without interference from Fullerton. I can see him and MF butting heads if the manager doesn’t get his way, if he doesn’t, we will have another manager who walked. That will reflect very poorly on LP and the board not to mention the disastrous effect it will have on ST sales.
Food for thought!
I remember when the Bluenoses thought that St Andrews was cursed, think it was in the 1980s, and they got a medium or a priest in to exorcise the place. Doesn’t seem to have done them much good And not sure I’d trust LP or JFs recruitment process even for a medium / priest tbh
They would come up with an extra large vicar
Pomlett, Mole & Gamble for example?
How many years have they all been on the board again??
I’m thinking of the bog brush king under a druid’s knife. Got to be worth a try
I did blame the team they were pants you’ve lost me now?
I was referring to the time wasting tactics
Everyone at the club was patting themselves on the back a couple of weeks ago after reaching the dizzy heights of lower mid table apart from Flynn I may add. It had a similar feel to JF and Pomlett smug interviews at the start of the season when we hadn’t actually done anything.
Pomlett’s address in the ST video seemed to suggest he thinks just the appointment alone is enough. There is massive work to be done to get anywhere near the play offs next season never mind automatics which is where our actual aim should be. Whilst I believe Flynn is the right man, without everyone at the club realising the extent of the task that faces us we’ll be back ultimately disappointed once more.
Time to play some of the youngsters
Any suggestions Ken? I could well be wrong but I’m not seeing loads of young talent knocking on the door of the first team at present, judging on this seasons performances.
I don’t include Perry as he is already a first team player so must come into Flynn’ thinking every week.
Bring back the Rev Peter Hart?
The Barry Fry incident comes to mind. Not sure who leaked the story.
You beat me to it!
Leek and Shay Willock
Don’t beet them with a stick if they don’t instantly perform. It will take them thyme to grow.
He’s admitting that a squad with him in it is a shambles, while use of the past tense ‘was’ implies that it is no longer now he’s gone.
Don’t be so hard on yourself Ash. Failing so spectacularly that your contract is terminated early in a poor division 4 side, and bickering with supporters on Twitter might not have been what you wanted for your career, but I’m sure your business venture will be a roaring success. Once you’ve paid the phone bill.
I think he sees himself as some sort of whitty joker, but truth is he’s about as funny as AIDS.
I suppose setting up a football academy with his name on it does betray some comedic awareness.
