Very disappointing. Thought we were the better team until they unlike us took their chance, Thought the 2nd half was a bit of a damp squib. Didn’t feel we were creating anything for the strikers… Left as it went into stoppage time so missed Hutch’s goal.
Generally we are meeting most posters expectations of around 8th - 10th
Crawley seem to have defied most peoples views
Don’t really have a narrative other than to say we would be an extremely poor team at that level as in my view we dint have the 5 or 6 players in the Team good enough and like I said you can’t buy a whole new one!
I reckon daniels would be ok at L1 level. And DJT pure talent in those boots
My comments are based on this season, not one game. I agree that tonight was disappointing, but it wasn’t a disaster by any means
I think last year Johnson would have put both those early chances away, I can’t understand why Sadler use’s a half fit Matt has he just said and have to sub him at half time but not use a fit Johnson instead.
Agreed mate. Guess we’re all a bit down tonight as it probably highlighted just where we are.
Still if ( and it’s a big if) we can beat Notts and Swindle it’s still all to play for.
My missis as decided she can’t see me suffering anymore and she calling the vet tomorrow
Service issues. Even half fit Matt will look better, than DJ feeding on scraps.
Hopefully have Earing back on Saturday, Stirk has been ok but Earing offers us so much more.
Is that something you’ve heard Bags?
Would be a boost.
He said himself in the locker against Salford he was a week away.
So i guess back on the training pitch this week and back for Saturday.
Hope you didn’t do it on the official Facebook page, because his grandad was on there calling fans idiots if they criticised him.
Quite a few comments have been deleted so he either had 2nd thoughts and deleted them or maybe the admin did it to save him some grief.
Think his grandads on here too
I think you’re falling into the trap of taking an honest assessment of the performance in a single game and conflating it with the overall opinion of a player.
The Sawyers comparison is a good one. He had some stinkers. So on match threads pertaining to that stinker people said “he’s had a stinker”. Somehow this got translated into “I can’t believe our fans don’t rate Sawyers” by our own supporters having a pop at our own supporters.
Same with Hutch. He hasn’t affected games positively for about a month now. That’s not to say he isn’t rated. In fact I rate him so highly I’d say his performances effectively set the tone for the whole team performance. He is that influential. I’ll be voting for him as player of the season. But tonight and on Saturday he was awful. And to be really clear that’s not me saying “he is awful” it’s me saying he’s had two awful games. Three out of ten jobs.
Just back to tonight’s game.
It pivoted on Liam Gordon’s brain fog when he shot over from ten yards instead of squaring it to Hutchinson. About five minutes later his opposite number had the same situation and did the right thing.
The pivot of being 1-0 up to being 1-0 down was vital.
Foulkes would’ve been in the same scenario had he had any semblance of composure when he was in with no one around him.
Lack of quality output from our wingbacks is something that we’ve moaned about all season, and it bit us at a time when it really hurts.
I get Stockport and Wrexham but Crewe Barrow Morecambe Crawley … the likes of Stevenage and Cheltenham before they. They get it right and punch above their weight. Good management sound recruitment.
Not sure I see that here to the level it should be ! Happy to be in the mix and see progress,
