BTW Why has the OS still showing that we lost 2-0 not 2-1? Don’t they rate Hutch’s contribution either?
I thought the same re JJ. I’ve spoke to him a few times and thought he looked a bit lightweight, but seeing him warm up he reminded me physique wise of John McGinn who’s a right unit for his height.
Why would you start someone who has been injured for weeks?
I hope we learn from the Daniels disaster against MK Dons
A bit horses for courses though. Daniels and to a lesser extent Stirk struggled when brought back in but Farq came straight back in in Nov/Dec and looked good from the first minute.
If we are missing a player so much which I think we are with Knowles then in a crucial game I would put him in.
In the reverse fixture kept their guy who has a great number of assists quiet. If your worried the replacement wouldn’t do the same you might. Specially against a team that only win games by out scoring you, but yes certainly a risk.
Tough game tomorrow I think, I know their form has been poor but they have some outstanding individuals and their side is packed with attacking threat. Looks they will be backed with a noisy and boisterous following of in excess of 1,100 spectators, a gate that our fans can’t fail to be impressed by.
I’m more than a little alarmed that with 24 hours tov go to what is a pivotal fixture there is still no pre match thread to debate the forthcoming encounter.
Hope Knowles is back tbh i don’t fancy Foulkes against Jodi Jones he struggled with Adelekun the other night and Jones is probably the best winger in the League by far.
Although I wouldn’t want to disrupt that back 3 again like at MK but could he put Adeboyega in there again…. Maybe. Is Knowles going to be ready to come back…
Apparently not yet
I think I’m more hoping Smith is going to be back between the sticks….
I would go Smith, Dave, Farq, Allen, Gordon, Knowles, Comley Stirk, Hutch, Matt, Gordon
I’d go
Smith
Oteh adeboyega priest daniels allen
Comley
Stirk hutch
Matt DJ
Ok so you would play Oteh, Daniels and the Priest from the start that are not up to full fitness against players like Langstaff, Jones and possibly McGoldrick
Foulkes was torn apart against adelekun , jones will kill him
We let In 2 incredibly poor goals from long balls from a poor Donny performance, langstaff will run Dave crazy. Dave is slow and struggle with players who make space with runs
I feel we need the experience not kids against such players . Just me
So you would leave Foulkes out and play an unfit forward at RWB!! By the way I didn’t think Foulkes was torn apart the other night. He had a tough opponent and I thought did ok.
As for Dave he has done well for us and if you leave him out DD is the logical replacement but is he fit enough for 90 minutes?
Think when it come to who do you play ( individually) for me its more about a more putting a defensive unit that’s more compact and together and experience will help in that regards big decisions for Sadler he’s got to get it right going to be crucial today .
I certainly wouldn’t be playing unfit players
I thought Foulkes had a shocker and was a walking red card based on how often he was caught out of position and giving away possession.
I like him and rate him but Tuesday he needed to come off and I worry about him today up against Jones.
I’m also worried that we’ll lose impact from Hutch because Foulkes will be pinned back and Hutch will spend all game trying to cover right midfield. I’d play Stirk right side to help Foulkes defensively.
Now that Ramadan is over, can Faal show his full potential?
When he left Doncaster after his loan spell, their manager was critical of his decision not to move up to a league one club. He insinuated that joining Walsall showed a lack of ambition.
Ironically, the player Donnie signed (to replace him and injured strikers like Lavery and Miller) was Adelakun who was moved on from Lincoln, on loan, to accommodate their returning loanees, Draper and Joe Taylor (on loan from Luton after a successful loan at Colchester). This begs the question whether they did better out of the transfer merry go round in January, than we did.
Time will tell, but right now, I’d rather be in our position than Doncaster’s. Time will tell but a fit and firing Faal could be the difference. If you can pardon the rather clumsy expression, I hope that he’s hungry to succeed.
